Tesco Complaints - Who to Escalate To?

  • I have been having a problem with quality of packing on groceries for a number of years. In short they pack packs of coke and 2l pop bottles with bags of crisps and latest easter eggs. So virtually every week I end up phoning then and getting a refund on the damaged items (I also state that I need to journey out to replace them elsewhere so ask for delivery to be refunded as well!)

Email contact I have is ceo.customerservice@tesco.co.uk which does get it escalated, but the quality of their customer service is appalling and I have pretty much given up on finding a solution to my problem, other than not shopping with them and stopping all my other spending with tesco (2 x mobile phones, home insurance, car insurance etc.)

Good luck to anyone who trys!

I received a cold call today from 01639820151 a company called No. 1 Home improvements trying to offer me double glazing money off vouchers. When I told her I was with the TPS she didn't seem to know what it was but volunteered " Oh, we get our phone lists from Tesco". Even though she said she had removed me from their database, it didn't stop me getting the same call a few minutes later. I phoned Tesco customer service to complain and spoke to Steve. He confirmed that my clubcard options exclude being contacted by any 3rd party, but was strangely reluctant to take the details of my complaint. After several minutes of him dodging I put the phone down and submitted a complaint form to Tesco. I also reported the firm above to the TPS. Later spoke to Rebecca, a manager at Tesco cust. svces. and she took the details

I agree their customer service is shocking, takes forever to get a reply if at all. I complained as I didn't get points for cartridges I sent and knew they received as sent them recorded, nightmare it was. I don't bother sending them anymore!
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

    - copied from a post I did elsewhere on this site.

Tesco don't have any way of knowing about recycled inkjet cartridges, but the people above will, the details above come from the Tesco website.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

  • My tesco complaint is that they never help me with my bags I'm 95 years old . :(
  • I am writing to complain about the behaviour of Tesco staff at 16:03 24th January 2014 in Tesco Rotherham town center.

I was paying for my shopping at the till nearest the entrance when a man was accompanied across the store from the entrance, taken between the tills, across the store to a small room close to the exit door. I heard him say "It's alright mate I've not done anything I don't mind." as he walked freely behind a store staff and was followed by a companion and several other store staff. As they neared the doorway to the small room, the men behind him thumped his head and shoulders without provocation and literally threw him into the room.

I went across and told them that no matter what the man had stolen they had no right to assault him in that way. I was told by a security man that the man had broken someones nose sometime before. I asked where the police were and told them that they weren't entitled to assault someone during an arrest. I added that the police do not use those tactics. There was an affray inside the room, the man was surrounded by five or six men inside the room, it was so small they were shoulder to shoulder and the man was clearly becoming agitated by the intense intimidation.

I left before the police arrived but have made a complaint to the police station. The shop was full of families shopping. This was a display of the worst kind of behaviour and not fitting for a company who claim to be customer focused.

I will not be using Tesco again until I am assured that their staff have been retrained in the correct procedures for citizens arrest and that it is a safe place to shop. I have been extremely upset by this incident.
