  • Hi guys, TESCO have just done the dirty on me too..... Iv just been in touch with Trade n Standards about what theyve done to me and im currently following their instructions.

I ordered food online to be delivered to my address back on the 30th Jan 2012 and the slot was booked for 1500gmt to 1700gmt...The time came and went but no delivery, so i rang Tesco to find out the driver had been, knocked and left. Then i was told i would have to re order and have yet another £50 taken from my account but im unemployed and cant afford to reorder... She then told me my money would be refunded back into my account 3 to 5 working days....yet as to date has never been returned. Then i find out from my next door neighbour that the driver in facy was knocking on my door BEFORE the time slot for my delivery...She though he was knocking on her door and it was in fact 1450 NOT 1500 which the driver claimed to be there!
So i waited and the waited and the 3 to 5 working days came and went with no money being put back into my account! So i rang tesco customer services on Saturday 11th Feb and requested to speak to a supervisor and explained about my money being missing, i was then told and i quote 'the .com manager is not here at the moment i will leave a message for him to ring you at 1000am on Sunday 12th Feb' Sunday 1000am came and no call so i waited and waited... NOTHING.... So this morning i got up rang customer services up and told the lady what had gone on and she said hold the line i'll try and get some information for you...THE PHONE LINE WENT DEAD!!!!! So i rang straight back and another lady answered i told her what was wrong and after speaking to her supervisor she came back and calmy said CHECK THIS OUT............. "IM SORRY SIR BUT IT SEEMS THEY FORGOT TO RETURN YOUR MONEY BUT DONT WORRY I WILL DO IT RIGHT NOW .............YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT 3 TO 5 WORKING DAYS FOR YOUR MONEY TO BE BACK INTO YOUR ACCOUNT" Then when i explained that was not good enough i want to speak to someone and im not waiting YET ANOTHER 3 to 5 working days ...............the phone went dead.
So i rang trade n standards and they told me it was basicly bng out of order what theyve done to me and i should firstly write to head office and if the reply is not satisfactory to get back to this named person there and they will get some information for me.

Tesco took my money from my account then their driver came early and claimed he was at my door at the proper time, he lied....obviously in a hurry to finish his deliveries.... then got told my money would be returned ...then my money was 'forgotten about' then i was told iv got to wait yet another week for my money to be returned...

Please reply as iv already had numerous posts up on facebook sent to me about Tesco, god knows how many other peoples money they are taking and 'forgetting' about it. Normaly i would be bothered if i was working but im not and i have a child and a small family to feed and iv had to borrow money to get some food with.
  • I have emailed the CEO of Tesco but have been told that nothing will get done so i will wait a little longer then iv been told to take legal action against them under tort law they will be liable under product liability.

Bunch of incompitant idiots...How the hell can you forget about your customers money?
  • I have had the store on the phone and got told 'we're sorry here is £15 of vouchers to spend on your next delivery' Then i have an email ten mins later theyve sent me ten pounds ...I DONT WANT TEN POUNDS I WANT MY MONEY YOU KEPT AND FORGOT ABOUT BACK IN MY ACCOUNT NOW AND BECAUSE OF YOU IV GOT TO SCRIMP ON MY SON'S BIRTHDAY TOMORROW NOW...DAM IDIOTS.

Im now ringing a solicitor to get free half hour chat.

************WARNING DO AS I AM AND SHOP ELSEWHERE*************** I HAVE NOW BLOGGED EVERYWHERE ALL OVER THE NET.

DO NOT SHOP ONLINE AT TESCO THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND FORGET THAY HAVE IT...EVEN AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD BY CUSTOMER SERVICES AT THE TIME SHE WILL SEND THE REFUND BACK...WHAT SHE FORGOT TO TYPE IT IN 2 SECONDS AFTER THE CALL???????????

You are aware mistakes can happen aren't you? Don't waste a solicitors time, they aren't refusing you a refund they just haven't processed it yet.

When a company the size of Tesco 'mistakenly' takes your money and does not provide the goods they should be able to expedite the repayment. (Remember if you take the goods and 'mistakenly' forget to give them the money they tend to call the police.)

It's really unacceptable for them to just airily wave you away and tell you to wait days for it.

There is no way to expedite the payment system for a company as large as Tesco or any company. Payments take as long as they take. Same as if you use your debit card and payment may show a couple of days after you used it on your statement. When you pay them payment isn't instant so a refund wont be instant either.

I have to agree with the above, 1 mistake then I would say waiting 3-5 days is acceptable....3+ mistakes culminating in 7plus days waiting I would expect Tesco to cough up the instant transfer fee

    Rubbish!
Payments take as long as they take.

    A pointless tautology.

If I can transfer money to any UK account in one day there is no reason why an outfit the size of Tesco cannot do the same.

Stop making stupid statements when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
