Yep ... I know everyone thinks their particular bank is the worst, but A&L really do take it to the limit. There are a load of us way ahead of you, having received their defence, so you'll have plenty of advice on the Alliance & Leicester forum.icon7.gif

By the way, although A&L would like us to think otherwise, it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY it will get to court and, even if it does, there's no way they'll actually attend (if you get that far). The fact is they have no defence ... their charges are unlawful!
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

Got a new offer today from Wragge..... it was for the orignal offer of £104 plus an extra £80.. ha ha ha.. They are jokers..... I am claiming for £913, I sent them a letter to settle out of court for £800 and this is what they turned up with.

Will be replying to tell them that we will meet in court.

Can someone put up a link for the CAG website etc where to download the court package etc.

  • Hi to all, well I have been reading thru your posts over the last few days and I would just like to say thanks to you all. All the info everyone puts up is so useful, I wouldn't have a clue if I were left to my own devices!

Anyway I recieved my Wragge and Co letter this morning. The letter is a 'Acknowledgement of Service' stating that ''they intend to defend all of this claim'' with a note attatched stating that they are acting on behalf of their client, A & L.
Mine is also signed by a trainee solicitor:rotfl:

Looks like we are at the same stage bobbydrake50.

So am I right in thinking that I just sit tight and wait for the defence paperwork. I take it this is just another of their silly tactics to put us off and giving themelves and extra 28 days!

Bye for now and good luck to all of you. Speak soon.

HI Kelly's skint - got home from work yesterday to find 2 letters - one from wragge i havent opened yet (guess we all know what that is), and one with an offer cheque enclosed from A&L of £460.00 (I'm claiming £1320 plus £120 moneyclaim). They say if i accept this offer they guarantee not to close my account! How nice of them! See you in court A&L (if you turn up)! Received a letter today from Northampton County Court saying the claim has been filed. Presumably Kelly you will get all this in the next couple of days. Cheers everyone and thanks for all the advice.

Can anyone help? I'm getting nervous here, I mean how can I battle it out in court with a smooth talking solictor who does this for a living, and the fact they transfered it from Wragge and Co to a local solicitor proves they are serious about this

Had letter today from MCOL to say my case has been moved to my local court. It also stated that'thefiling of an allocation questionaire has been dispensed with...', bu, please note that an allocation fee may be payable in this instance' . Anyone else had this attatchment, does it mean I shall have to pay?

As your location shows NI, it could be because that is where you are claiming from? Phone your court and ask them.

Ha ha yea they will prob send an offer in the next day or so. I am climing £1710 and thats incl interest up till a week or so ago. I went to my local county court as I idnt have to pay the initial £120 fee. Was told by them that I couldnt do it online with mcol as I would have had to pay the £120 first and then claim it back.
As for the offer they gave you - well what a cheek, you keep going and get all the money back that they have taken. Thats what I am doing!:p
