I was claiming £2020 and was offered £1145 after 2nd letter. Have decided to accept without going to court as, looking at other people's offers, mine seemed to be quite high in comparison...really don't know why. They seem to be randomly selecting people to pay out?
Well done, I'd probably go with that as well.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
Hi
I was following the thread for normal claiming queries. I realised the A & L was here tonight. I have read from page 30 so have been here for a while.
I have my court date for 27th May and do have to fill in the AQ. I also have the clause 10 so will send details to A & L, Wraggage and my local court who is now dealing. (haven't had the solicitor change to a local one yet).
I don't think there is anything else to do other than wait for the court date, can you let me know once I've sent the AQ and the details of the particulars if there is anything else. I would appreciate it.
What I am actually posting for is: Someone posted a link to a spreadsheet (I think it was RobClinton) so I can fill out charges, court fee etc and interest plus the fact that it calculates it up until today's date.
Thanks for all of your help on this I really appreciate and would have caved in by now if I didn't realis we are all in the same boat. We can do it and a case hasn't been lost yet. I keep reminding myself of this.
Thanks for reading

Just read of someone on the CAG website getting over £3k back from A&L recently ... he was about to apply for judgement when they didn't enter a defence, then they paid up.
This is the first success story I've read about A&L paying out more than £500 before court for ages.
I am claiming £7600 from A&L have gone through the letter process am now just days away from the court process question i have should i do this myself or bring in a no win no fee lawyer for this0 -
I sent the letter threatening court action to Alliance and Leicester. Don't know what happened, but somehow sent letter giving 7 days for them to respond instead of 14.
Because of bank holiday, gave them a few more days anyway then got holding letter. Phoned on Friday to see how far along their enquiries were. Told I couldn't speak to anyone - so many people are taking action they have a huge backlog and couldn't possibly discuss anything with me.
So - looks like I'm ready to go down the MCOL route. 14 days are up tomorrow but I put 7 days on the letter. Should I send the warning letter again with 14/another 7 days on? Or just carry on with the MCOL?
EEEK!!
Another quick question - I have charges on 2 accounts, so I'm going for one MCOL with both accounts separated on the particulars. Is that right or should I file two cases?0 -

It's got all the goodies there, case law including the infamous Dunlop case, UTCCR 1999, UCTA 1977 etc. It is basically ready to go, all you have to do is customise it with your own circumstances. i.e. your own correspondence.
Good luck!!0 -
If you said 7 days but they have actually had 14 days, then it is perfectly reasonable to proceed to the next level. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Having Filed My Claim The Alliance And Leicester Have Responded Within 14 Days And Their Solicitor Has Written To Me With A Copy Of Their Defence. The Alliance Have Also Written To Me Enclosing A Cheque For £750, My Total Claim Was For £2100.00. To Cut A Long Story Short, They Say If I Accept This Offer As Settlement, My Account Will Continue To Run As Before. Does That Mean If I Don't They Will Close It???
My Partner And I Have Quite Poor Credit And I Know We Will Struggle To Open Another Account Anywhere ( Unless Someone Can Give Me Some Ideas From Their Own Experiences!! ), Should I Accept They're Offer And Play It Safe? Or Carry On To Claim The Full Amount??? What Happens Though Now They Have Decided To Defend It! Do I Contact The A&l With My Decision Or Go Through The Court In Some Way?? Out Of My Depth Now!!
Please Help, Desperate For Advice, Don't Know What To Do!!0
