I put the claim in with Moneyclaim online last week on the 1st May - does anyone know when you usually hear something after putting the claim in and is it usually A&L or Wragge?

A&L made me an offer within a week of putting in a claim, it was only for roughly a 3rd of what i'm claiming, shortly after about 5 days Wragge and Co sent there letter saying they where for defending the claim.

My boyfriend asked A&L for his last 6 years' statements, worked out the charges and sent them a letter to reclaim them. He got a letter from them today saying they are refusing to pay and will review their position after the OFT's resuts...

Has anyone else had this? Should we proceed with the next letter - the one threatening to take them to court?

Hi everyone, my first ever post but heregoes!!
am using Moneyclaim on line to get money back from ALLIANCE & LEICESTER, only problem is when keying in their details as defendant, it asks for their address and postcode - I've used the one on their letterhead: Alliance&Leicester plc, customer serv centre, bootle, merseyside, GIR 0AA...BUT error message keeps saying this is outside of England & Wales and says it doesn't recognise the address!! Anyone already submitted for A&L??
    would appreciate your help..

    Hi there,

yes that a standard letter, we all got one, it's the first stage in the dance.

Just send another letter saying that if you don't get your chrges back in 7 days you will file court proceedings.

    wait 7 days........

    money claim on-line. issue proceedings.

get a small offer....... Refuse that. (cash the cheque if you wish but make sure you send a letter stating you have accepted part payment and not full & final settlement)

get a letter from wragge & co. saying they intend to defend.......

    get the defence........

your where we all are now....

get a phone call from Clark Sargent of Wragge & Co. trying to talk you down (Seems to be a new addition to the dance)

    get a court date.....

    turn up.....

    wait a while.......

    they don't show......

you win by default , judge orders payment....

    YOU WIN.

    (Hopefully ;) )

Hope this helps , don't expect it to be quick tho it can take months , just stick it out you'll get there in the end.

    Sixx

    Success!!!!! :D:D:D

Received a letter from A&L this morning with refund of all charges :T

Huge thanks to Martin and the article  :D

Now we will switch to Nationwide :rotfl: who've given us a free £150 overdraft so that if we do go below £0 we won't be charged hefty fees :T

hi, as you've won with A&L, can you advise re what address you submitted on moneyclaim form - it keeps saying the bootle, GIR 0AA is outside England/Wales

    Thanks

    Hi There,

Yes the A&L are !!!!!!- like this and don't give you much in the way of help.

    Issue your papers to :-

    Client Complaints / Claims Department
    Alliance & Leicester PLC
    Carlton Park
    Narborough
    Leicester
    Leicestershire
    LE19 0AL

This is the company's registered office it's then down to them to forward it internally , will probably get lost and you'll win by default :)

    Hope this helps,

    Good Luck.

    Sixx
