I just sent Carlton Park and Bootle a letter saying that Id destroyed it. However on some threads, people are suggesting that you bank the cheque, tell the bank that you are declining their offer, but say that you will keep the cheque as part payment for the full amount. I think Wragge and Co are being employed purely to put the frighteners on. They will probably get us all in court for the same day. Chances are that they won't be around to defend though.
I have already prepared some of my speech for court if necessary, including case law etc.
Although this site has a good interest calculator on it, if anyone wants a copy of a spreadsheet i designed, automatically calculating interest and culumative charges total, just give me a buzz. Would be an idea if one of us listed those of us in the same position with Wragge & Co, and the timeline we are all at, would be interesting to see if there is a pattern building i.e. standard letters sent out in a batch.
I would hazard a guess that the letters are even exactly the same in content.
Good luck everyone, probably see you in Northampton soon !!!!!!!!0 -
