  • Amount claimed: £325.00
    Amount paid by A&L: £325.00

I have today finally received the bank charges claimed from Alliance & Leicester. :j

I have a question though, I have started court proceedings through Money Claim online and Alliance entered a defence. Also received the offer letter from Alliance the same day (ironic). Do I need to close the case through Moneyclaim?? If so how do I do this??

Also, I have started a claim with Halifax last year and sent the 1st and 2nd letter. Due to unforseen events I never finished the claim and can remember their last response was an offer for about 10% of the money claimed. Can I continue proceedings now? If so where do I start??

Would really appreciate your advice on this one!
  • Hi there, can I have some help please. I have successfully reclaimed my charges from lloyds. I am now helping my sister to reclaim from a + l. We have her statements and I have gone through them. Can she claim for "direct debit policy admin serv £7.99, and monthly od charge of £25.00". I have checked the what you can and cannot claim for thread but these are not on here. Any help/advice would be greatfully received.

I believe you can claim for monthly OD's over £5, so yes to the £25. I'm not sure about the other one, but I'd include it for now. Any charges that can't be re-claimed can be deducted on settlement, so don't worry about it. I've included a few charges I shouldn't and am near the end now.icon7.gif

    Hope this helps.

Re. your A&L claim, ring up MCOL to let them know ... they'll also advise if you need to do anything else.

In addition to my earlier post, I was wondering how long on average do A+L normally
take (in days) to respond to the first letter requesting the details of bank charges?

Also, would it be best to send all correspondence regarding this matter to my local
branch in Bury, or customer services in Bootle? Would it make any difference with
either address? Are the local branch likely to pass it on to customer services?

Hi eyeball ... nearly 2 weeks now since letter sent to the judge asking for judgement by default after Wragge didn't get any court papers in. I'll ring at the end of the week if still nothing.

How far have you got now?

It varies ... there's no "standard" time, but usually within 2/3 weeks.

Send your stuff to either the Bootle or Narborough address. People have sent to both and it doesn't make any difference.icon7.gif

    Hi everyone

I am claiming my bank charges from A&L (just over £1000 with court fees and interest). I successfully claimed back just over £2000 from HSBC in May last year. I am finding this time round it is a lot more confusing and scary.

I have a court date on 25th July, the AQ was dispensed with and there was no other information given. The letter from the court was literally one line. I rang the court to ask if I needed to bring anything or do anything and I was told that this was just a directional hearing and I didn't need to do anything.

Has anyone experienced the same, do you think I should prepare my court bundle or contact Wragge and see if I can settle. I am not bothere about going to court as I believe in what I am claiming for. Howver, the whole process is confusing me and making me feel unsettled.

    Any advice gratefully received!
