    HIYA ALL.

Well I'm pleased to tell you all that my refund has been paid into my account , I did have to threaten to re-open my claim and continue to court though!

Apparently , my first cheque was cashed !!! Hmmm i think not , it was SOOOOOO cancelled even Stevie Wonder wouldn't cash it!

Anyway I think it's just a case of carry on to the bitter end guys.

Seeing as they didn't make me sign any blood oath of secrecy :rotfl: , i'll be getting a .ZIP FILE together of the bulk of my emails and letters and make it avalible on here in the near future for any newbies (and oldies) to browse.

Stay strong ya all , and don't let the !!!!!!!s get ya down.

    Sixx .

Hello all.I recently tried to reclaim £75.00 in unfair bank charges from Alliance and Leicester but was turned down via a snotty letter from the manager.I did not go the usual route of requesting statements and sending a cheque etc as I have all my statements due to the account only being two years old.Has anyone else had this problem and did you get your money back in the end and how? Am I the only person in the country to be turned down?
I'm having to do this as we've now been landed with some charges - they screwed up when our credit card was lost and cancelled our debit card instead. It takes a letter then the threat of court action, sometimes even court. I'm doing A&L as well, I'll keep you updated on what happens, they've already refused via secure message on online banking so it's not lookoing good for avoiding the whole court action thing! :o
Blackadder: Baldrick, I have a very, very, very cunning plan.
Baldrick: Is it as cunning as a fox what used to be Professor of Cunning at Oxford University but has moved on and is now working for the U.N. at the High Commission of International Cunning Planning?
    Blackadder: Yes it is.
    Baldrick: Hmm... that's cunning.

  • LOOKING FOR HELP

can anyone answer the following question for me:
since writing to A+L on the 3rd may 2007 asking for refund of bank charges and with them writing back firstly with them stating "bla, bla read our terms and conditions bla, bla" then with them making me an offer well below what the total of charges are and me regecting the offer, i have looked at my latest 2 months of statments today and noticed that i have incured more charges from them.
what i need to know is can i add these charges to the prev total?

just to let you know i have not as yet started a court case

Yes, I believe you can, especially easy if you've not started court proceedings (when it gets complicatedrolleyes.gif). I would think that, at this stage, you would just have to send them an amended spreadsheet, as long as the charges don't amount to over £5k (without interest) if you're in the UK. I'd try not to incur more charges though, or it will get complicated if you want to claim them back also ...

many thanks mimi i have just sent to A + L a new itemised list of charges along with a letter informing them of the new charges and given them yet again another 7 days of i start court action.
  • I have just received a response to the third letter stating I will take A + L to court. They have offered me £128 out of £1112.70 asked for. They have said they will give me the difference of what I was charged and what the charges are now, but only for failed DD's and unpaid items and not unauthorised overdrafts. I am obviously not going to accept the offer but am unsure of what to do next. I don't know whether to go to small claims or the financial ombudsman?? I know if I was to go to the ombudsman I have to wait so long but how long do I have to wait? I received their last letter (the offer) yesterday 26/06/07??
  • i got the same letter last week. if you ask me, and what i am doing in 7 days is i will go via MCOL i dont know how long it takes to get to court but from what i have read on prev posts the finacal o b man can not make the bank if i remember correctly he can not make the bank pay up but the court can.
but to be sure take a look at past posts to be sure.;)
