Am I dumb or what!! My case has been transferred to Norwich CC and I am just waiting for a date. After reading your threads I went back over A&L's defence and they wanted me to send them particulars of my claim! does that mean I have to send them another copy of the statement I sent to A&L or what? Have I really stuffed it up for myself? (I received their defence on 9 May).

That is fantastic news , well done! :T

Out of interest, i'm at the stage now where I am issueing the warrant, which address did you people use to send it to? I'm tempted to use my local branch but will that slow things down??

Mine was a business banking claim, but, anyhow, I think the best address to use is:
    Alliance & Leicester plc
    Bridle Road
    Bootle
    Merseyside
    L30 4GB

The warrant is issued to them there, but they then have to forward it to their legal team in Leicester for settlement. It was about a month between warrant being issued and me getting the money.

I would have assumed that you have to use the same address as when you filed the claim.
  • I returned a cheque last week to A&L. They were offering me a part settlement on a claim for over £900. Can anyone give me an idea as to how they will proceed from now and timescales involved?

Which stage is your claim at?
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • HI there,

I am "just" reclaiming £240.00 in total, have been with A&L for about 2.5 years and am claiming back the numerous £25 they have deducted for each time I went over my overdraft limit of £1.500 (although it was a bit less in the first year, and they agreed to extend it to that amount).

After the recommended correspondence I have not received any satisfactory responses from A&L (only their standard letters saying they are not paying me back), so I used the Money Claim website to take them to court.

Today I received a letter from A&L confirming they have confirmed by claim on the Money Claim website.

I have to admit I got worried, since I have such a high overdraft, do they have a better case if they defend? Now, since I have claimed the bank charges, I have not incurred any new £25 deductions, so I can show evidence (if I need to) that I have been careful since the date of my claim.

So saying all this I would like to check with all of you, who are A&L customers and claimed your charges - have you gone to court at all? And if so, did you have an overdraft facility like me? I am concerned they have a stronger case as I am using my overdraft (but working hard to go back to "0").

Thanks for any feedback from all of you!

    Kind regards,
    André

I'm claiming over £1300 from them and filed with MCOL on the 30th and the put a defense in on the 4th.....this is pretty standard with A&L and then they have a further 28days to play with....

    You'll be fine...x

  • Hi everyone
I received copy of defence from Wragg & Co on 30/05/07 but nothing since is this normal or what do I have to do to get it to the next stage - is there a time limit for them to contact the court or not.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
  • I called the bank today with an inquirey and asked about the letter that I sent to them asking for a £677. refund. I was informed that a letter had been sent to me that day and it was read out to me. Basicaly they said my request had been denied blah blah blah.
I then went on to look into claiming through the courts and discovered it would cost me £80, unfortunately I am not able to ask for them to waiver the expense.

All in all I am thinking of using
to carry on with my claim. They will charge me 20% of my win if it is successful.

Do you think this is a good deal considering I have no idea what Im doing and I have nothing to lose? If not does anyone know of any othe sites that will do it for less???

    Totaly stressed. Please help.

    Thanks.xxx
