Send the next letter giving them 7 days to respond or you will go to court, add into the letter that you will only accept the £75 as a part payment, but you will continue the claim for the balance.

How much was the claim for in total?

I have posted in the "success" stories as I have managed to get £180.00 back from A & L in Bank charges. I did the letters, issued the Summons, and then they got Optima Legal Services to write to me, with a cheque in settlement for the full amount.
Today I have had a letter from A & L asking me to ring them on an 0151 number "as a matter of urgency with your account number in order that (we) can give full consideration to your claim.". Just wondering ... do you think they are going to offer me more money .....lol!

They made me overdraw at another bank, which incurred charges, due to their faulty website that day and they are taking forever to sort it.

    Why are they so s-l-o-w?

I read in the paper that banks like A&L close poepel's accounts after they make a successful reclaim of what they think to be unfair charges.
    I have just opened mine:eek:

    Sounds rather extreme

Just been on to my online account and they've refunded £25 but there is now a pending charge of £25????
This wasnt there yesterday and i thought that they had removed the 2 pending charges and credited £25 back. This i thought was the £75 refund as per their letter.
Im really confused and angry now

Ive been charged £100 now since december:mad:
  • I have now written to alliance and leicester 3 times requesting they refund my bank charges of £550.

On all occassions they write back and say that these charges were fair and just and they will stand.

    What shall i do now?

If you have followed the steps in Martins article, and sent all the letters to the bank. You need to issue a court claim now. More information on this is in the article.

I sent my data access request letter, and within the 40 day period I have recieved absolutely nothing from Alliance and Leicester, no confirmation despite chaser letters being sent recorded delivery, although they were pretty quick to cash my £10 cheque!!

I sent an e-mail to the managing director of A&L this morning saying I'd be taking court action against them if I don't get my info in the next 7 days. We will see!!

    What was the outcome?

Not sure, if DPA allows u to launch a pros for failure to comply with DPA request, poss mags ct summons might concentrate their mind?

Ive sent in a complaint to the Info Comm people - what happens with it, and how longs the process?
I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.
