This thread reads like an advertorial for Avon. Nowt to do with increaseing your income.

Next thing we will have is a thread like it for each Opportunity. EG Kleeneze people saying how much they like the Spider Catcher etc.. :rotfl:

Don't you mock the Spider Catcher.... VERY handy for us poor, wee ladies without a big hunky man to look after us! ;)

Seriously though, how can talking about Avon (albeit this thread was originally set up to offer personal recommendations re. its products) NOT relate to 'Increasing Your Income'?

Only other way for us to have advice on products is for it to be on posts in the usual thread, just would need somone to be in charge of editing to add others suggestions (maybe you could volunteer for that MC?) - we do post about products on there anyway and no-one has ever commented as its only us avon people who read the avon thread and I find it useful as although I use a lot of products, I don't use much make-up so hard to know which products are good and which are rubbish!
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

Not sure exactly what you mean, Lozza, but am happy to help how/whenever.... Really can't see what the problem is re. this thread so far though so why not let it just run until 'the powers that be' tell us otherwise? (We already have a subscriber to our larger threads, who can maybe advise anyway as they're more au fait with the T&C's.)

Personally, think it was a good idea of MM to start this thread. MSE forum is unmoderated anyway so unless someone complains about it then, as far as I understand, it can stay where it is..... (Sure, if I'm wrong, someone more knowledgeable will be along sooner or later.)

Until we're advised to the contrary.... carry on peeps recommending your fave Avon products. :T

Ditto - I agree Avon forum useless - far too many categories and just a waste of time - what should be a good venue - isn't!

For the record, MSE DO NOT have moderators, they are Board Guides.

Have asked a BG for their advice and they said we are not promoting our own businesses, we are recommending products, which does not contravene MSE rules.

They recommend products on health and beauty thread. Just waiting to see if we should be moved.

If we do have to remove this thread, I meant we could have one post by a designated person, then any recommendations/reviews people want to add they can email/pm to this person, for them to add to this post by editing it (much as I do for the first post to add/remove the brochure links etc). Bit of a faff, but if we have to, we have to, at least then we can have the reviews still, but it would be within the existing avon thread where noone has complained when we've posted reviews before.

    As ever, you're a star! :T

For what it's worth, our normal lengthy Avon threads are a perfect example of very well run, friendly, informative, unmoderated threads aimed at supporting each other. Some people get used to other forum areas where they like 'having a pop' and/or egging each other on to get a rise out of others. (I used to help manage a forum so am fairly au fait with the general rules.) Am wondering whether 'BS' initials were not exactly by accident? ;):rotfl:

Never mind, as already said, carry on as before with all your personal recommendations and if the thread is moved it shouldn't be a problem as a link should be added to the end for us all to follow.

Now - back to products.... what else? Oh yes,

The Kids Range - Detangler Spray is brill! :T Does wet your hair more than the normal grown up version (Hair Mist) but definitely helps get your comb through. Having said that though..... on reflection think I actually prefer...

Advance Techniques Overnight Elixir - which it looks like they're discontinuing and/or just repackaging? Certainly it's been appearing in the HT Clearance a lot recently. (Little white bottle with a purple top. Grab some @ £1 if you can ;) ) I actually prefer this to the Dry Ends Serum, which I find is not 'rich' enough for my old locks.

Ah, yes, see what you mean now. Looks like Aesop is on the case though :T :T and all is fine and dandy here. Lets just carry on as MM intended.

  • I feel awkward for posting this now :o It is intended to help one another as reps to increase our income by being able to pass on information to our customers. We are not trying to sell on here. I can't stand the Avon forum, one person in particular has put me off completely :( So I like to stay here to get help. The only alternative is to set up our own forum, which I prefer not to do as I like MSE. :(

Ps I am so in love with Supershock Gel Eyeliner that I have several - can't believe I forgot to put that on my list :p

This thread is not a sales pitch, please let us stay!!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Got to say, am reserving my judgment yet - agree far too many areas (am still struggling to find my way round too; I tend to just go to 'Discussions' and see what people have contributed to most recently.) Was really shocked recently though when I was trying to be helpful and someone 'had a pop' - came out with a comment like 'glad I don't live near you' OK, know am soft but really.... can't see the need. My Mum always told me if you can't say something nice about someone, say nothing at all. Good advice in my book.

Sorry, OP, taken the thread off topic again..... to get back on....

Solutions Vibes - Got to admit I do quite like this new product launched in C5 (although still think Avon are missing a marketing ploy! ;)) Not sure why you'd want to wake your eyes up before going to bed and also not sure about the 10 seconds to move from outer to inner eye (I tend to just roll it around wherever it feels good). Does tend to give you that "I've been up for hours look" though even when you've only just jumped out of bed so guess, again, it does what it says on the package. :T
