  • Back on here briefly, just to be nosey! :D

Recently read 'Long Way Round' by Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman & found the following:

(Charley talking about mosquitos when camping) 'Even Avon Skin-so-Soft which an angler friend had told me was the best mosquito repellant, had failed to keep the little b******d away.'

Make of that what you will :rotfl:

I guess it depends what else they had around, and if they used enough of it. I even use it on horses, and you can watch the flies etc approach and do a u-turn when they notice the smell!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

oooh must try it on the ponies missminx - great tip thanks! If it beats the expensive stuff we normally buy that would be fantastic! Do you know if it works on the nasty midges too - as one of mine suffers with sweet itch? :( Wonder what's in it to do this lol!!

Just waiting for my latest order from Brochure 13 which I'm expecting on Wednesday - looking forward to the Foot Works things I've ordered which were only £1.49 each!! Also my Glimmersticks Diamonds eyeliner in a different shade this time Smoky Diamond, I have the Emerald Glow one which I love, the sparkles are very subtle and it lasts for ages on my eyes. :)

I ordered the Fergie perfume Outspoken when you got the free body spray and cream too and I use it as my everyday perfume. It's really nice too.

Favourites of mine are the glimmerstick eye liners, I have the black one and the glittery one too. I really like the room sprays, bubble baths and shower gels too.

I've ordered the toning flip flops and can't wait to see if they are as good as I've heard.

I didn't actually like the Outspoken by Fergie but the new one about to be launched in C15 is absolutely fabulous. There are new Christian LaCroix fragrances coming out soon for both men and ladies - love the men's but, again, not keen on the ladies. Each to their own though.

My absolutely (still) fave product though are the toning flip flops. The black ones are coming down to £12.99 shortly so am going to stock up on those too - so far I've stuck to the white ones. Did you like yours?

I used this stuff on my horse too and it did work re flies but it left her with white flakes and a kind of residue, am I doing something wrong? too much maybe?

    :)

It has citronella in it. Works for people, dogs and horses and seems to keep most stuff away! You can dilute down with water if you want / for animals with sensitive skin 1 part oil to 4 parts water would be the weakest solution. Fleas don't seem to like it either, handy for dog owners as considerably cheaper than flea stuff!!
For horses, highly recommend garlic in their food to discourage insects too. HTH

Two options really, try it diluted (as above) or bath the horse and apply it after rinsing and just leave it on. It's a great mane and tail detangler too, works like a leave-in conditioner.

Which part of the horse did you get a residue? For the head and face, I spray my hands and just wipe it on. Should keep the amount reasonable. HTH
