  • Oooh and the speed dry nail spray stuff - it does really work :D

But not the Matte Nail Varnish - awful stuff doesn't just chip but comes of in sheets.
  • Agree about the Matte nail polish, it's great for a quick fix because it dries so fast but it's horrendous for chipping, barely lasts minutes! And putting a top coat on defeats the point of a matte nail polish - I'm going to buy a clear matte top coat for my regular nails polishes from now on!

I am finding this thread very helpfull. My beautician started selling Avon as a sideline to earn extra cash and is giving clients the brochure to have a look through. I felt a little bit obliged to order something but didn't want to waste money on something rubbish. I ended up getting the skin so soft oil as I had heard it was good protection against the midges and it was on a special offer. I'll be taking up some of the suggestions on here next time I am given the brochure. Thanks.

The good thing about avon is that they have a 90 day returns period, so if you don't like something (wrong size/colour or you just think its a bit carp!) then you can return it for a refund/exchange. A few exemptions of course - knickers, and earrings unless they're faulty. But bras can be returned, as can make-up even if its been tried - otherwise it would be so hard for people to get the right colour the first time!

Had the new empowerment bracelet in my delivery this week (the one raising funds for the domestic violence charities) and I really love it, looks like a charm bracelet and looks more expensive than it actually costs. Size is quite good too, I'm on the small size and usually find the bracelets are waaayy to big for me to wear, they just fall off, but this fits nicely. Plus of course its for a great charity :)
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

Thank you so much for the reccomendations - have plumped for toning slippers (£15 clearance), pillow mist (included in a 4 for £5 offer), sleep balm (BOGOF) and violet & lychee room spray.
I wouldn't recommend the eye shadows as the don't show up well on my brown skin - I just stick to urban decay now. The lip glosses are fine and the 24K gold lipstick in pink gives a subtle shimmer and I love the 24k gold in ruby. I love little white dress perfume.
  • Avon Bond Girl perfume is great,it smells like an expensive perfume with out the high price tag.
Sleeptherapy pillowmist is another great Avon buy.
I also don`t do foundation but love the Magix Face perfector
Another make up must have is the Anew Mascara & Serum and Arabian Glow bronzing pearls
I find Avon Nail Varnish (not the color trend) as good as a lot of the more pricey ranges.
I love the SSS soft & fresh Dry oil body spray.
The Tshirt bras are excellent too

thanks, for some reason I'm feeling like I want to buy loads of Avon perfumes now! it's the £30/40 price tag that put me off buying perfumes before. I had a sample of bond girl and loved it. Has anyone bought any men's scents? I've just bought my OH the simply because and I'm going to order him Christian Lacroix noir (loved the sample!). I got little black dress - it's ok but I'm not so keen.

any reccomendations for skincare? I'm 30 but have no wrinkles.

At 30 you're not supposed to have any wrinkles, Soma! :rotfl:

Had a new customer (dropped 2 books off but not a sniff of an order) calling to me down the street the other day absolutely desperate for some Bond Girl. Managed to find her some and got a bottle for me too (to try at some point).

As for men's fragrances, depends on their age - you might like Windscape for him (younger fragrance) but am a lady of a certain age so my OH tends to like Wilderness, Avon Musk (oh, and anything that says Gucci on it! :o )

Back to skincare, all depends on whether you have dry, normal or oily skin and whether you're prone to outbreaks. Post up more info and will see if I can suggest something.

I met someone who had terrible crow's feet at 23! I still don't have any now so it must have been her skin.

I have had a sneaky peek at the upcoming brochures and I'm definitely gonna order the anew 30+ trial packs for a tenner. I bought some no7 moisturiser for £20 before christmas and still haven't incorporated moisturising into my routine LOL. I'm most scared about my eyes due to meeting someone so young with crow's feet!

have just put down Quadrafx eye cream and anti-aging moisturising cream for OH on my next order so I hope that's good. He's prone to dry skin anyway. btw OH was wrinkly at 29!

It's not so much about the moisturiser but a decent cleanser (they tend to be cheaper too....) If you use the right cleanser + toner then you use much less moisturiser.

Be careful around the eye area too, the skin there is much 'thinner' so can be easily stretched/damaged. Only ever apply lotions to the eye area with your 'ring finger' - you automatically pat more gently (hope that makes sense).

Another tip, before even trying any expensive moisturisers, exfoliate first to remove the old, dry skin (soaks up all the moisturiser - total waste of money). Avon do facial exfoliaters but sugar and butter (or even marg) will do the same job (OK a bit harsh but you get the idea). Think of it in terms of putting butter onto stale bread.... better to take the top, very dry layer off and get through to the moist layer underneath.

    Hope that helps.

if you wait until Avon reduce their prices, ie Christian Lacroix for Women, can sometimes be bought at £12, stock up then! then it is worth buying them. Don't forget they have the 90 day guarantee, so if you are not happy with the product, it stops working, etc, you can return to avon or your rep for a full refund or exchange of product.

My most popular seller for customers is the green Christian Lacroix, and Far Away.
