Have been doing this with the Chelsea BS. Had a Goodwill payment of £170 sometime last year. Currently at mcol stage awaiting their response.

Seems the same as bank charges to me as it clearly doesnt cost them more than pennys to send out a computerised letter.

Hi I have claimed bank charges back from Nationwide, Barclays, Halifax and many others totaling to over £9,000 yipee:j BUT ! also from my old mortgage company £ 900.00 for late payments and admin . They never recieved ( yeh yeh!} any of the court letters so I threatened the baliffs and they sent me the cash ! BUT!!! they then took me to court to get the money back!!!!

I stood my ground and it payed off as they droped the case last month. I have now sold my existing home and again have incurred lots of charges . Does any one know if the same rules to the test case are the same and are the charges on mortgages unlawful really? would love to know off to oz and need the money !! ha

Well done on your reclaiming success.
Im looking to reclaim back late payment fees from my old mortgage company.what did you put in your claim? was it the same as the bank charges reclaim? I'd really appreciate your help.thanks.

Hi there just read your thread , how did you get the charges back I have over £ 8,000 with ge money and I am just in the sale process , only had the house 4 yrs, so i hope to get some money back as its rather a lot!!!

if you dont mind me asking was it easy and what did they try to fob u off with ?

I have reclaimed all my bankl charges , biut with the court case wondered if it was worth starting it yet or to wait .

hi , ive been thinking about trying to get my admin charges back to but worried about if u do could they be awkward about the morgage , each month i get charged £40 , ive phoned and explained that we get paid at the end of the month and our morgage is due on the 10th, but they want £150 to change the date, which i think is shocking im to wiv ge money so i will be keeping a close eye on this thread cheers jill

Hi, my dad has been with Halifax over 20 years and in them years he has been paying them all sorts of extra payments such late payments interest and other charges as if they had to send a letter to him to request a fee then they would charge £25 for that and if they had to phone him then they would charge him £40, is there any way he can reclaim all that back?.
