BBC News: Credit and debit card surcharges 'are excessive'

The Lydd Air flights are seasonal (which I'm guessing Vendee's trips are), and the fact that Aurigny Air fly from Guernsey is completely irrelevant to the point I'm making.
I've been flying into Dinard for many years at all times of the year and I've never seen a Lydd Air flight there.
The point you are making is irrelvant. You stated that there was always an alternative airline to every destination that Ryanair fly to. There is no alternative to Ryanair when flying to Dinard from the UK mainland. To suggest that a flight from Guernsey is an alternative demonstrates the weakness of your argument and the lengths you will go to to avoid looking silly.0 -
But you conceed you can get there on a non RyanAir flight, correct?
At no point did I claim direct routing; I was very clear about that.
You have alternatives, hence my point stands.Legal team on standby0 -
Yes, perhaps your earlier point that "there is no airport which is exclusively served by RyanAir" may be correct (and rather obvious), but so what? Your point doesn't excuse Ryanair's drip pricing which is dishonest and misleading. At no point did I claim direct routing; I was very clear about that.0 -
At least Ryanair don't have unavoidable fuel surcharges like some of the other airlines.
It looks like Which are just looking for cheap publicity for their own ends.0 -
Thank you for conceding my point.
Drip pricing is a bad idea in your opinion. I'm my opinion it's transparent, points out where your money goes and gives you the option to add or remove some elements. Where am I actually incorrect?Legal team on standby0 -
It does not give an indication of where the money goes. If it did, then the online check-in fee and admin fee would not be waived in some cases but not in others. These fees are clearly not related to cost but a way of Ryanair to make headline fares look cheaper than they really are.Drip pricing is a bad idea in your opinion. Your point is correct with regard to tax and baggage fees, and as I said before this is commendable.0 -
I've just seen that Which have published a page where you can make a pledge to support their campaign against unfair airline card charges (drip pricing):

Which airlines don't attract any card fees at all?
You keep appearing to change your arguement. RyanAir tell you where the money actually goes, but on special flights absorb those costs so the customer get an unbelievable bargain. Somehow for you that's s bad thing?
Can you find a 1p flight with BA anywhere?
I seriously struggle to understand your issue other than that you don't like transparent pricing.Legal team on standby0 -

I don't think you will find a BA flight for 1p......but...
If you pay by debit card the price you see is the price you pay -including a seat, bag, refreshments, etc.
A more important factor is if something goes wrong - just look at the number of threads on this site about how Ryanair have treated passengers and the difficulty of getting recompense and or assistance. If your still not convinced look on Airline Quality they are not rated 2 stars for nothing.
