No, the customer can't easily remove the admin charge if they don't want to pay it.So you all agree the final fare is transparent, and the customer has the flexibility to add or remove components they don't want or need ?
To be fair, Ryanair do make the online check-in fee transparent from the outset, but it's pointless to itemise it separately as it's not something that one can opt out of. Customers are not interested in seeing every component cost that makes up the total fare (e.g. despatchers, flight crew, cabin crew, web site running costs, cleaning, fuel, landing fees). Ryanair should just quote the fare at the beginning and include everything that one can't opt out of.The check-in process carries a fee - most airlines hide this fee in their total fare whereas RyanAir makes this fee transparent. I don't see why you can say this is an issue.0 -

I still don't understand why people have an issue.
If you fly BA you have to pay for hold luggage, refreshments and airport check-in. With RyanAir you can chose to avoid paying for any of those.
Both carriers attract check-in fees and admin fees, only RyanAir tell you thats where you money is going whereas BA don't.

I totally disagree - drip pricing is only an issue to people who are a bit simple and perhaps shouldn't be shopping online.Legal team on standby0

When I was a Service Station Manager about 30 years ago the Company I worked for introduced an extra fee of 10p or something like that for paying by credt card.
Yes 10p per transaction :eek:
My God it nearly caused a riot and was quickly withdrawn :j

Do Ryanair really tell us where our money is going? They said the online check-in fee is for the costs of running their website booking system, and now they are saying the card fee / administration fee is for the cost of running their website booking system. So if one buys a £10 flight and pays £6 online check-in and a £5 card fee, are we really to believe that the website costs £11 to run and the staff costs, fuel, aircraft costs, airport fees etc only come to £10? It's the bottom line cost that customers, and I am sure the airline, is interested in. It's a shame customers only find that out after they have been through the whole booking process.0 -
