I never realised that anyone bought things off those channels, they always seem to be selling poor quality electronics, god-awful jewelry and other assorted tat. I sometimes watch them as I enjoy the desperation in the pitching, makes me laugh.
Anyhoo on topic, they are running a business they can decide how to take orders and you can decide to buy or not.
Only 20 seconds left for this designer gold plated Butterfly shaped broach, recently mocked by Calvin Klein0 -

As for the phone - they always have old phones on sale though and its no wonder that went for a quid.
Firstly that link is dodgy as anything, those phones were flying off the shelf Before it dropped to a pound, very suspect.
Also that phone is rubbish no-one would buy that for £119 (its price before the drop)0 -

Yeh is a bit odd as it may be done to encourage people to buy before the drop to a quid.. but everyone pays a quid and they are still left with stock to shift if they do it themselves so cant see them doing that..
Plus after the scandals of the other auction channels which went to the wall a few years ago i guess they are careful of what they do"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

Quite often they're told how many megadrops will be in any period. If there's one left an only one product left then both the presenters and viewers can figure it out. Thats why they were going quickly already and you could hear them say "it must be a pound/this one" or something along those lines.0 -
you dont even have to speak to them on the phone you ring up press button 1 then another button and its done
but i cant see what your problem is they not really doing anything wrongReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -

Really? I never knew shopping channels could be so complex in their simplicity:D
mind you how many pages we on now?"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
As far as I can tell you can buy megadrops on-line you just cannot pre-bid on them, seems fair to me.
yes that would be fair as i hvae posted eg all prebids kicked out/unable to prebid,
that way phone and web buyers get exactly the same chance as each other
however they are not honouring this t&c and was blocking the web from buying any megadrop item once on air
which is were my argument started/come from0 -

rollernutty have you got a link for the tvs and stereos and cameras that have gone fro a quid please?
unfortunately your supposed to listen to the message before confirming
and again unfortunately no links as tehy are not included in the previous items listings
sorry
i promise though they do, do them and i have had them my best being a stereo and over the years 2 cameras never been lucky enough with a tv megadrop0 -

All went in 1 second. It was Peter Simon presenting that night and it was a megadrop night. I recon people with the higher value items with low quantites must just chance the phone call incase the items go for £1. Thats what must have happend that time.
unfortunately people are chancing the phone calls and cancelling any buys which are not £1 that is what they need to stop
eg when you confirm is wehn you should be forced to buy hence a lot of megadrops are just selling instant becasue if not £1 people cancel0 -
