    Are you running a business?

no as stated the comapny can feel free to check my house for all ietms purchased from them

hence i feel it is fine to have more than 1 megadrop within a week that is fair and justifiable although if anyone does buy more than 1 of each megdrop with the intention to make a profit they are just greedy and they are the ones who genuinely need stopping

okay it is fair if they buy 1 item per megadrop with the intention to sell the item on after all tehy tell you to do so, but to buy m,ore than 1 to rob the enirte country of there chance of getting in on a megadrop wehn there is only 10 items with a few hundred people after 10 is just plain simple wrong and they need stopping

there has to be some way they are buying more than 1 as the computer dont let you which again is fair! so i can only assume they are the company buying bakc or a phone buyer as tehy often appear wehn the web is blocked

again though turning over/switching of is not a valid solution and a silly remark if a person like me likes the channel and wants to buy from them as said there are solutions out there i feel this must be along the lines of 1 per ip address, house address, phone number certainley no more than 1 per houslehold to stop those who have found the loophole if any as tehy are the ones who need punishing not the entrie web buyers

the company has said tehy have something like 130 odd phonelines so a fair few and to make sure the genuine buyers get teh items they want all they need to do is bring back the double plunge were it drop s to a genuine price and then again to £1 were currently tehy are just plunging all scheduled megadrops nearly straight to £1 so obviously the non geniune buyers will try to get teh item! leaving the genuine buyers missing out sometimes as tehy have not had chance to buy something they like at a price tehy liked

with the below example a £500 item usualy sells at £150 so if tehy drop to this price before dropping to £1 it would ensure genuine buyers get teh item! as long as tehy force people to buy items wehn they dont go for £1 otherwise tehy will just buy as tehy are now on the off chance the item could be £1 yet cancel the order wehn it is not

basically they used to sell say something with a strat price of £500 tehy would drop to £150 and then 15 seconds later to £1

coupling with if tehy forced those to buy who buy on the chance something is £1 to pay the close price it would stop them jsut bidding on the off chance as they could end up paying £500 for something they though could be £1 again a solution to go forward not jsut sidetrack the issue

As far as I can tell you can buy megadrops on-line you just cannot pre-bid on them, seems fair to me.

    1. Any bids, including any online bids placed after the announcement of the Megadrop but prior to the closure of the auction will be included in the Megadrop.
    2. Any pre-bids placed in advance via the channel's website prior to the time of announcement of the Megadrop are null and void and will not be included in the auction
    3. sit-up reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel or refuse bids and bar the accounts of customers who win more than one Megadrop during any one week

I think they only keep previous actions up for a day or so. I've seen a Sony Vaio go for £1, the auction was a small amount with only about 5 of them avaliable. All went in 1 second. It was Peter Simon presenting that night and it was a megadrop night. I recon people with the higher value items with low quantites must just chance the phone call incase the items go for £1. Thats what must have happend that time.

No thats cool - and i appreciate what you said in your previous post about people ringing in on all items of higher value in hope they drop to a quid - never thought of speculative calls given that its expensive to call.

As for the phone - they always have old phones on sale though and its no wonder that went for a quid.

I think it's because some people seem to get a bit obsessed with the channel (not menentioning any names ;)) so go to extreme lenghts to try and get the megadrops!
