  • Had insurance comapny call today to say they messed up and that OH ring isn't covered. Had to cancel policy and renew afresh. What a clat, all sorted now at least.

Hoping to make an OP of around £500 end of the month if things stay as they are

  • Hi all,

Shipped the LO's off to the grandparents for a night over the weekend and it is simpl amazing how much you can get done.

I built a wooden water bench for the local nursery, wrapped all the kids xmas presents, sorted my study paperwork out, boxed clothes the kids had grown out of, replaced light fittings... it seemed endless.

Need to call the insurance company AGAIN as we have had OH ring valued and after the Jewellers error it seemed the value has risen and its actually worth £5750 so thats £750 more than I paid so happy with that.

  • I was going to ring Halifax today but had a quick look and have seen that Tesco Bank are offering a 2year fixed rrate of just 1.99% with a 20% OP allowance!

    Brilliant!

  • Had payday however had my MOT and car tax to pay so no OP after all.

Still not decided on a new mortgage as Tesco charge £50 for CHAPs payments wondering if that includes overpayments. Its £70 difference between them and Halifax and I am familar with Halifax so not sure what to do yet.

I doubt it would include over payments. Surely not! :-)

They're having a giraffe, surely :eek::eek::eek::eek:. Although, what constitutes a CHAPS payment these days - a debit card payment wouldn't be one would it?

  • Hey all,

Its been a while since my last post. Mostly due to not too much MSE activity but also a large amount of time spent with kiddies over xmas.

    A few updates are:
OH is due to have LO #4 end of the month.
Ended up with Halifax with no fee at a rate of 3.24% fixed for two years.
reduced the term from 23years to 15years, so mortgage went up from £800 to £1100 per month.
Max OP for 2013 is 16,000 but expect only to get half of that due to my shortening the term and effectively doing £3600 regular OP's.
Guttering still needs doing, but trying to delay it.
Boarded out the attic for storage over xmas (had to get away from the over excited kids in truth!).

    Hope all are well.

Yeah another man cave, already got a workshop and two sheds. Can never have enough escape options in my opinion!
