  • Morning all,

Didn't have the best of weekends for spends, had to fill up my car twice as I had a long drive.

The penny saving is continuing for the ring, its not very MSE of me but i have pretty much decided to go and push the boat out.

Good on you for making the decision to push the boat out; boo to filling up the car twice...

Why don't you have a trial run with Herr A etc.. and maybe get 3 months worth of stuff and see how you go - could be a grand experiment...lol.

  • Well the OH did another food shop and it was £120 so I think a grand experiement is in order!

DD2 was in hopsital again last night for some oxygen, any bug and it hits her for six. Bless her. Just means I have to leave work early to pick up the others from nursery.

No OP plans until I have got the ring. Updated my target.

Hope your little one is ok x
  • Thanks Dawn, yeah she will be fine. They have given her some inhalers and steroids to help with her breathing. To look at you wouldn't think there was anything up with her.

Looks like the washing machine might have packed in today. Although the OH has a habit of breaking washing machines and dishwashers. Had to fix the dishwasher three times already and the washine machine twice.....

  • Had some inheritance money paid in, just to decide what propotion goes as OP and what goes towards the ring fund.

I think I will OP £4000 and put £1000 to the ring fund.

    Hope you are all well.

    Hi LP

    Hope DD2 is ok.

Oh dear to the washing machine - maybe you can fix it again?!

Good split for the inheritance - its always sad, but good if you can make a lasting difference with the money.

  • Hi MCI,

Yeah DD2 is fine, her monitor still goes off a few times each night but its only as her sats drop below 90% and she soon recovers.

Oh I forgot to update about the washine machine, turns out it was just a blocked filter. There was a hair grip, a insole from a slipper and a couple of hair bobbles......

Indeed, its never nice but personally I feel putting it mainly towards the OP would suit her (single lady all her life and very thrifty).

  • Afternoon all,

Just a short to do list
    - Must do tax credits
    - Must renew DD2 disability allowance
    - Need to cut front lawn (also think about stopping green thumb now the lawn is in good condition)

Should have a new front gate soon thanks for FIL. That'll help keep the kids penned in.

  • Got my front lawn cut last night, brought some of the excess cuttings to work to get rid of. I called the council before and apparently the bin collectors won't take two garden bins. Which is a shame because I am up to my armpits in grass cuttings.

Halfway through the tax credits, I think I might have to repay some as we appear to be over the threshold now.
