Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 9th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning all,

Feels very mild here although its too dark to see anything yet.

Off to work again today,I do feel I went back too early yesterday, but I got a call from the school nurse yesterday to go and collect dd, as she felf so bad, she has to go back in today because of her GCSE revision,so will hopefully be ok today.

Dinner tonight is sausage chips and beans,so a nice easy dinner, and I have a sainsbugs delivery coming.

I did a wash last night which is draped all over the rads, will see if its dry tonight and put another one on.

    Congrats to camelot xxx

Ok better get on, have good days all xx
  • Morning all,
    Murky but mild here.
Off out to work in a minute when I've decluttered a cuppa.
So not much OS here. Dinner will be freezer surprise. Washing will have to be TDd I think 'coz the forecast is rain, rain & more rain:(
Have a good day all, Happy Thursday, hugs tto those in need, Silver x
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

WM emptied, DW reloaded, fish fed, packups made, hubby dropped at the station, weekly shop done at Mr T's (I love the new automatic tills), breakfast eaten. It's raining here so the washing will go on the maiden.
BB, clean the toilets & the kitchen, $od the rest, don't get wound up about cleaning, it only needs doing again.
Off to the war zone in a minute, teachers are grumpy because we may become an academy & the coffee machine has gone up to 30p.
I spent 6 naffing hours yesterday naffing cutting up naffing card into small naffing pieces & all I got at the end was 'Aren't they done yet! I NEED them'
Must keep telling myself that I love my job, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Morning all, Another day at the mad house here!!! Was very naughty last night and bought a sofa on ebay - to replace the very old and doggy smelling one that we have. Still it will be nice when its delivered - told them will pay cash on delivery - no paying upfront here. Interest stays in MY bank account.

Can just about see through the curtains to see an overcast day - probably wet and yucky! Boys in school today and then I'm starting on the diet (courtesy of the SW thread) again. Have to rummage through the freezer at some point, so will pull on the gloves and get to it. Better go and kick OH out of bed - and the dogs want out - hey ho another day has started!!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

wmf thanks for the pm Stuart Macbride is absolutely brilliant, and I can't reccomend him enough to anyone who likes a cracking good read.
I have a college run with DGD this morning followed by a day at the shops in Maidstone with DD Hopefully I won't spend too much .:)
I have a pile of iroing but that can wait until tonight to do,I do my ironing whilst watching t.v. and I have always sat down to do it.My DDs think I'm odd to sit but why make ones back more painful than it has to be .There an old saying why stand when you can sit, and why sit when you can lie :) why indeed.
have a great day everybody what ever you are doing
    Cheers JackieO xx
  • Morning all

Urgh.... Do people in real life ever feel perky in the morning or is it just on tv??? I've had some toast smothered in butter and marmalade to get me going - very naughty and I'll be sorry when my clothes don't fit :o

Lovely thread yesterday - I was a 'new romantic' obsessed with Duran Duran!!

Congrats to camelot :j and loulou -hope you had a good nights sleep.
Off to do the school run and then work in a bit, when I get home I've got to do a BIG supermarket shop which I'm dreading - was supposed to do it online the other day but I can't get to grips with it - just spend an hour looking at the screen feeling draining of all energy then give up :rotfl: No idea what's for dinner tonight!

Hope everyone has a good day
