I note the BIBs have excelled themselves yet again!!The drama began yesterday as Maureen, 53, was setting off for work at the cab company, where she assigns jobs over the radio to a fleet of local drivers.
Her car was parked in her own numbered space outside the flat where she lives in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. According to the clampers, it was not displaying a permit. According to Maureen, who does have a valid permit, it had simply slipped down behind the tax disc.
Even when she produced it, however, the clampers would not budge. They refused to remove the clamp until she paid £80, parked their white van in front of her car, and sat in it with their arms folded.
...
The siege of Southend was quelled after police warned the taxi drivers they could face arrest for threatening behaviour and public order offences.0 -
Quite.....so you will agree that, thank goodness, the the clampers days are numbered.
That kind of clamper gets what he deserves, he will get his comeuppance. But that does not detract from the thousands of innocent land occupiers who have to suffer with trespass parking. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Not quite sure how blocking someone in is "threatening behaviour" or a "public order offence" if clamping someone and blocking them in and demanding money, when the person being clamped pays for that space and has a permit, is not. At least when the clamping ban comes in there will hopefully be a clear and more acceptable response in these situations from the Police. Especially if the Police can fine the clampers, we all know the Police's interest is perked up when there's money in it (Speeding, Mobile phone use etc). The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

You are being ridiculous , the legislation has not been made law as yet, so how can point out anything that as yet does not exist, the intention is there from the government to make this into law, they have indicated numerous times, so instead of wasting your time here asking people for proof, try researching and finding a solution yourself, now I have wasted enough of my time on you as you clearly are not taking it in, let me summarise for you:
1) clamping is being banned
2) towing is being banned
3) blocking people in is being banned
Now no matter how much you bleat, this will happen, now I suggest you try and find a solution, it is out there , if you remain static on this you will lose out, and a competitor who does actually think will use this to their advantage !
the story continues to be this for the clampers: tick tick tick..... won't be long now.
meanwhile: I was speaking to the guy who sells me my 'big issue' once a fortnight and he said: 'if the clamp morons come round here we're gonna set the old biddy who sorted out the jewel thieves in northampton on 'em.'
job done.0 -

The 'police warning' could and should have been directed at the clamper, who should have also been further advised to seek any redress, real or imagined, via the civil court. The big clue they obviously missed is that it was the ladys own allocated parking space-she was perfectly entitled to park her own car in her own space, petty permit displayed or not.
In this example the police have clearly condoned a private individual fining another private citizen for an 'offence'.
A complaint against the police is in order here.0 -
Care to comment on/justify the following latest typical example of your heroes in action Flyboy?

Clamper's absolutely the purest scum on this earth.
As for the plod hanging around there and threatening the arrest of the taxi driver's is more or less tantamount to aiding and abetting extortion.
That's just one of the reason's i will never ever help a cop in trouble ever again, period. if you're a law abiding citizen and try to get help from plod, forget it, now if you're a criminal, it appear's they can't do enough for them. They make me sick.0 -

'That kind of clamper' is the rule not the exception hence the long overdue ban to be imposed on this grubby industry(sic). Yes, agreed, they're all getting what they deserve.0 -
Victory eh??
What a smack in the face to Private companies, I did warn you it was coming 6 months ago.
Haha money extortion coming to an end0 -
I do wonder though, what Maureen would have said, if she had arrived home the evening before and found someone had parked in her driveway. Would she have been grateful for the clampers then, I wonder?

Well it was a waste of time I suppose, his burying his head in the sand demanding that I predict the future like mystic meg, plus sorting out his problems regarding parking , just shows that he has no clue what he is talking about at all!
Also as links have been provided on here in regards to what is proposed from the government on their parliament website, I of course haven't read it, also as I have emailed the home office and my local mp's and read numorous articles in regards to this, of course I haven't researched this
Now this guy is burying his head in the sand and expects the government to provide him the right to have extorters and criminals on his land - LOL
I notice national clamps and the ethical trev was involved in the debacle above, so let's take a look at that, a landowner parked on her own land getting clamped, so this clamper trespasses on her land to clamp a car that is parked there with a permit, is that right ? So it's okay to do that according to mr troll because he uses the old chestnut of if it was somebody parked in your space etc, I mean next he will say if I parked in front of your drive
Clamping is coming to an end, no longer will nurses on house calls, hearses with a coffin in, ambulances on call, delivery vans dropping parcels, pregnant women frogged matched to empty bank accounts, can't come soon enough!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
