Oh lovely, so everyone has to fit awkward and expensive gates and barriers just because of a few !!!!!!!!!!s who can't be bothered to find a proper parking space. As it happens, we do have barriers on our larger car park at the rear, which have twice been ripped off by people who thought that they had a right to damage our property just so they could then park where they wanted.

Sorry, but clamping seems like a perfect way to discourage inconsiderate parking such as this. I'm sure it's open to abuse, but if there are signs up explaining that it's private property DON'T PARK THERE!

    Ian

i have to agree with ian, clamping is the perfect way to stop inconsiderate motorists , i have recently moved to a property that has its own RESIDENTS car park, we pay for this with our rents, and although we have LARGE signs stating non residents will be clamped, and plenty of them, the clamping service has lapsed, you would think the threat of clamping would deter most sensible people but we have regular abusers of our parking spaces, goodness knows what will happen after 1st october. we all know you cannot expect to park outside your home on a public highway, even though we all pay enough council tax to expect a little consideration, but surely on privately owned land one would expect to have some say on who can and cannot park there, bring back clamping NOW!

Good luck at the Job Centre in a fortnight Mr Clamper. I am sure there might be something for you in being a bouncer or summat.

CLAMPERS ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH IN PRIVATE PARKING.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What do the signs say? Any phoney tow truck cancellation clauses?I've nothing necessarily against clamping done correctly with reasonable release fees and clear signage, but blame the ban on cowboys marching victims to cash machines to get £500 off them in the dead of night.

The clamping industry, and BPA, brought it on themselves with a complete failure to self regulate. They had their chance and blew it.

When I first started to look at the private parking world I was puzzled by the seeming willingness with which people continued to park in areas subject to clamping despite, it appeared, plentiful signs. The reason is the very nature of the beast. There's no money to made when everyone is deterred so the trick is to position signage that sneaks below the awareness of those in a rush etc and thus ensnare them. The understandable reaction is to blame the determined and ignorant parker when the fault may well have been better attributed to the deliberately, ineffectual clampist. How many times have clampers been found "seeding" no parking areas with parked cars to encourage others?

Years ago landowners accepted that if people regularly trespassed on their land you fenced/walled it. There is absolutely no reason why that should not continue to apply. There is no point in whining on here about the issue when you need to get on to your managing agent/landlord and get him to secure his car park in a proper fashion using gates, a good lock with signed-for keys or go the whole hog and install a pass card/electronic key fob entry system.

Looking at the wording of your post, the surname's not Whitehouse is it?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

I doubt it, if it was trev it would be so long winded you'd probably lose the will to live after a few chapters ;)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
