"You can further expect a barring of all outgoing calls and text from 30/12/06, which will prevent you from calling!"

Between Fresh and Easymobile, after a month they failed to transfer my number and now tell me that the opportunity is lost.
Having spent 30 minutes on Fresh's 0870 number to find this now, I'll will now go elsewhere.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -
Hi there, I have today received a letter from a debt agency advising me that my account on a SIM card from EasyMobile is in arrears of £167 although I disposed of this SIM card along with the phone in one of them recycle places in CarPhoneWareHouse. In Hindsight I should have taken it out but have never had the problem before with old pay as you go SIM Cards. At present I am in communication with Shimmerbright, although they aren't backing down at all, so just be careful with your SIM cards that the negative balance doesn't result in you having a debt letter from a bailiff. Yes, easyMobile charged you 75p/month if you didn't make £5 worth of calls within a 3 month period, thus if you didn't call to cancel the account, you could find yourself going into a negative balance and then finding you are being charged fees for not putting your account into a positive balance. This was all clearly stated in their terms which unlike many wasn't in small print. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... its just so crazy that they can get away with it, they have shut it down to move back to denmark leaving the consumers having to deal with debt agencies cause they have no customer service now, well after today that is.0

People had online access to their account details throughout the life of the product, and the terms were clear enough. In addition anyone who let their account go overdrawn had both text message and email reminders, more than once. And topping up online was not difficult, just a bit slow when the website was very busy just after they announced closure. But they also accepted manual payments by phone, waiving the fee when the website was tricky to use.0 -
If you read my previous post to that you will see that I had disposed of the phone with credit will on it, therefore I can not see how a pay as you go mobile phone can get into arrears of nearly £170. I had £30 free credit on the SIM and just ordered it as it was free, I never used it as I had a contract just thought someone would enjoy the benefits, So my family used it now and then. When I disposed of the phone with SIM there was over £20 on it. Therefore, Why I say how can they get away with that is...... Its a pay as you go mobile SIM therefore the definition of pay as you go is obvious is it not???0

....but did you phone up to cancel the SIM / PAYG account?
It clearly stated in not small writing, that you would be charged 75p/month if you didn't make £5 worth of calls during a 3 month period.
Sounds like you ignored all this, didn't contact easyMobile to shut down the PAYG account and after having 75p taken off every month, your account got into arrears and because you ignored the text messages and emails you were charged the fee that was stated in not small writing.
Because you ignored all these terms that were clearly stated, you have run up a bill of arrears, if you hadn't ignored the terms that were clearly stated (unlike most companies) then the SIM would have been deactivated and you would not be getting any charges added. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I have read the terms and conditions clearly and its mentions in part 6 of those terms if your account is overdrawn by £10 then we will block the SIM until the balance has been brought up to date. I admit yes I didn't cancel the sim however if their terms in section 6 states this how come the negative balance is £170 from being in credit in October to being in negative balance of this amount now?0
