    arrowone, Tesco uses O2 network.
  • I just spoke to Easy Mobile to ask why I had not received the two unlock codes I requested on 14 Nov. Apparantly they have a problem getting unlock codes for Nokia phones but hope to get them in next few days. Lady I spoke to confirmed that sims locked to T-Mobile that's why my phones are working still but they would not work on another non T-Mobile network.
  • Yes have tried the Tesco Sims but they don't work :(

I've just had a live chat with easymobile (Shimmerbright) and was very annoyed. I followed the instructions on easymobile's home page recently about moving over to new provider or letting them know if moving to new provider and requesting PAC code to transfer number.

After doing this I got a message that my PAC number would follow in the post and by email.

I have just received a mail from Shimmerbright to say that by now I should have received my PAC code so I need to arrange the transfer quickly. I went onto the chat service on easymobile and spoke to a customer services operator. She informed me that my account was closed on 17th February. I questionned this and she said it was definetely closed then. (I only closed it a few days ago because I had to).

I asked for the PAC code and she said she couldn't give me one because my account has been terminated in February. She said there was no request for a PAC number.

I explained that I followed the procedure and did request one and did get notification when I submitted the form that I would receive one. She was not very helpful and very brief and unapologetic.

I wanted to keep the number and wanted to take up the offer by Tesco of transferring number over and gaining £5 free credit.

Also annoyed that I was charged for some calls recently and I had £5 credit for introducing a friend (which was shown in my account online). Didn't mention that though. No point as she was so unhelpful

Anyone else had problems with PAC code?

I didn't have any problem with getting my two PACs.

I just selected I wanted my PAC as I was transferring, within a few minutes I received my PAC in an email, never received anything in the post, until today and that was to say my account is overdrawn, even though I had left a couple of pound in there when the transfer took place, what they had done was take away £30 worth of bonuses! They have said they will put that right and not to worry about the threat of debt collection agencies.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • Hi,

Hoping someone will be able to help me with this...

If I order one of these PAYG phones from Virgin http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_Payg_details.asp?ItemKey=156572 and put the SIM into my sons Nokia phone (locked to easymobile) will it work? I read further back that Virgin SIMS will work without needing to unlock from easymobile so I'm hoping this is the case as it seems a good offer.

    Thanks,

    Loopy x

I had no problems with getting PACs for 2 sims to move to Fresh. I was initially thinking of just closing the account ( I opened 2 accounts just for the Quidco cash back and free credit) but after managing to move the remaining balance to just dial, I thought I could move another £30 from Fresh this way too.

No, it won't work. Virgin or Easymobile will work in a T-mobile phone because they rent from T-mobile and T-mobile will still get a cut of the revenue if one of their sims is put in a T-mobile phone. Same as an O2 phone will usually allow a Tesco sim but not vice versa.

Please also note that the 1112 phone that you are thinking of buying cannot currently be unlocked, except by the SP. However I seem to remember from an earlier post, that your phone is a Nokia 6060 which can be unlocked easily. Just post your details in the unlocking thread at the top of this forum and they'll give you the code.

    Hi I can't remember.

did Easymobile take credit card details?

I have a minus credit on my phone now and I can still make phone calls.

Do I assume that I won't pay for these?

Incidentally, the only airtime I had was what they gave initially. I have never topped up.
