    Morning all

Dry and frosty start to the day here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. I got up just after he left, and did a half hour workout dvd, will be doing running training Mon, Wed and Fri's with workout dvd on Tues and Thurs - hoping it will help with the static weight loss - once I'd done yesterday felt tired but really good, and the same this morning. Will be going to the scales on Friday will be interesting to see if it helps at all! If it doesn't but it helps my mood then that's good too.

Was quite productive yesterday, did washing, drying and ironing, only a very small amount left now, did some painting so DH can get last bits finished this week. Managed to get drs appt also.

Dinner last night was delicious beef stew, dumplings (not for me!), mash, brussels, carrots and broccolli - meat was absolutely gorgeous. Tonight is a "quick tea" night as DS1 has Cadets, but won't be as bad this week as I'm on holiday today, so have defrosted some fish over night and will be making a fish pie for myself, DS1 and DS2 - so will just put that in the oven and we can have some veg with it. May do some other baking today if I get jobs done, but will be taking it easier than yesterday!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning All,
Beautiful morning here for a change, very uplifting. I too have flowers standing to attention this morning, daffs & freesias in my case that DD bought me at the weekend. Am still not feeling right on the Tramadol, does anyone else take this? how does it make you feel? doesn't seem to be doing anything for the pain just makes me feel spaced out & I am really not sleeping well. Have to go to the surgery this morning for the dreaded smear test so will see if can have quick word with the doc.
DP has an appt on the coast later this morning so I am going to go with him & grab a bit of sea air which hopefully will blow away the cobwebs & all the other things that are not right in my head at the moment.
OSwise 1 load of washing already on line & another in the machine nearly ready to go out. DW is having a hissy fit so will have to have a look at that when we get back. Dinner tonight is pork stirfry & I am going to chuck a chicken stew in the slowcooker to have tomorrow.
JackieO a belated Happy Birthday, glad to see you had a good day x

    Morning all

Sorry not posting regularly but nothing cheerful to say so have just been reading mostly. Lit a purple candle last night but couldn't listen to all the lovely music as I am not in a good place still, so was too emotional to subject myself to that. Things just the same here at home.

On an OS front I have been keeping myself busy cleaning, clearing out cupboards etc. I have also been batch cooking as I had bought loads of food in before OH left so am trying not to waste it (and to make sure I have plenty in for when my appetite does return) So have cooked and mashed all the bag of potatoes and frozen them in individual portions, made carrot and coriander soup and frozen it. Made quiches with the eggs, bacon, cheese etc which are also frozen. Freezer is fit to burst but I still can't eat properly. Am making sure I have at least some fruit and yogurt each day.

One question if I can please - I have a butternut squash and some peppers and fancy making a soup with them, (I would normally have roasted as a veg). If I make a soup do I roast them first then just blitz with veg stock or am I missing something out? I do have a little cream that needs using up too. Any tips greatly appreciated.

I think I might try to go back to work tomorrow. I am off with stress at the moment and have a sick note until next Monday but am wondering if trying to get back to some form of normalacy (sp?) might help. I am still very emotional so am not sure what to do. I dont seem able to make decisions at the moment.

Hope everyone has a good day

Hope you are feeling a little better today RR

Fairy - its awful for you but all you can do is be there for her when she needs you.

Lou - hope you and LO feel better soon.

Sorry brain has turned to mush so cant remember other news so (((Hugs))) to anyone who needs them

Morning everybody.I was up early today(for me) as DDog wanted a wee and his claws were tapping on the wooden floor.Must remember to trim them today,I've been meaning to do it for the last week.Decided to stop up and make DH & DS2s butties.Feels a lot colder today.
Thanks to everyone for posting the lovely songs for Diva yesterday, even if they did make me cry.I think she would have been tickled pink(or purple :))
I may head into town today for a mooch, not been for a while, and go on the market too.Tea will prob be cottage pie as there is some mince in the fridge.
I did another round on my nieces baby blanket last night- the pram she has chosen is lime green, and the accessories cream ,green and red,so the blanket is mainly cream, with the odd line in the other colours. Its only cushion size at the moment though :o I am slow.I've not done any sewing for a week either and am getting fidgety.I got some new thread for the overlocker, and cant get the tension right ,which is really frustrating but I think I'm ready to try again.
Fairylittle I hope you get to see your daughter today (((hugs)))

Well I'd better go and take the dog for his sniff around, then make myself presentable if I'm to go in town.xxx

Nic- its good to see you post.If I make soup with butternut,I roast it first, then add stock, and whatever herbs or spices take my fancy, usually Thai spices and a little coconut milk, but some people like squash with sage,or cumin, then blitz. As for going back to work, you could give it a go,I'm sure people would be supportive and understand if you got upset,it might just help to be amongst other people who know you,and would keep you busy.I suppose it depends how stressful your job is really.(((Hugs)))

NicLou glad to see you posting. Don't know if you've been reading but my BF is going through something very similar. It only happened on Saturday so as you can imagine she is in a dreadful state. Keep your chin up.
I made soup last week just roasted the butternut squash and tomatoes and some chillin and garlic and then wizzed in the blended with stock. It was delish.
Rosy I did another round of my blanket last night as well. I too am very slow. The baby is not due until June and its a good job:)

    Good Morning All

Halight that is so not a good way to be woken, shouldn't laugh but :rotfl:

Its sunny here at the moment, am enjoying it even if it is showing the dust.

Busy day here again, OH is at work, kids at school and have 4.5 hours on my 2nd job. Need to put some washing on too. Must go to the docs to pick up a prescription but other than that nowhere else to go.

Have nice and easy chicken in bedcrumbs with jacket spuds and salad for dinner.

Yesterday I rang up 2 people who had applied for a job sometime ago with us and left their numbers. We have a vacancy at the moment as the last person we took on has been off more than they have been in & thats only since Xmas - anyway both confirmed that they are not working still but both said no thanks - not enough money! I know we pay a good rate and pay more than 1 of the contractors we work alongside. I can't work it out and find it amazing when you see on the news the amount of people out or work. Will be advertising the job again tomorrow at the job centre and hope some people apply who actually want to work.

Rant over now, better get on with the day.x
