Thanks ivyleaf yes, I have let him have the links so he can read all the messages when he is ready ....

I know I don't usually post on here but thought I'd add what I put on the flylady thread ...

    Hi Everyone

I have been reading thru all the lovely comments about Diva she would be overwhelmed ... I know she hasn't posted on this thread for quite some time now but whenever someone mentioned her or sent hugs I would pass the message on ... typical Diva response was "I'm surprised they still remember me"

I'm still pretty numb ... it's beginning to sink in that I won't get another text or a phone call with her singing down the line simply to cheer me up ... I know exactly what she would tell me tho ... "Get a grip ... life is for living .. make the most of what time you have left darling" ... she has said that to me so many times in the past

So that will be my tribute to her .. I will keep fighting & make her proud of me ....

Love & hugs to all ... hold your dearest close & don't be afraid to tell them you love them ... Diva & I never said goodbye with out saying "love you" ... I can be grateful for that.

    xx

Many thanks for popping in to share with us your friendhip with diva....
I did not know her well but i always enjoyed her posts. There were a few PMs passed between us too. Ones of suport, Not many but a few.

Well I have had it twice, and had tablets both times, the second time I knew what it was and got them quickly and it was less painful and went quicker. They are expensive, so don't always want to give them, so if it is go to a different Dr. in the practice.

RedRuby...if it is shingles you do need to go back to GP to start Acyclovir treatment...what planet are GPs on?

Thanks both, I did get the impression he was trying to fob me off , if a rash does appear, I will get back onto him xx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Redruby - please do.

My Mum has had shingles now for nearly 5 weeks - she went to the Dr straightaway and was given strong painkillers (which had other side effects) - I'd read online about the anti-viral tablets that, if you get it really quickly, can really help.

I'm really annoyed with our Dr that he didn't prescribe them and my Mum wouldn't go back - is of the opinion that Drs can't be wrong!!! I so wish I'd made more of a fuss as she's had 5 weeks of pain and discomfort and poor sleep. Even now the rash has gone she's still in pain. They've just today gone on a 10 week trip to Australia and I'm hoping it doesn't spoil her hols and that the relaxation will help her recover.

    Take care

RIP MSD. I'll miss your cheery purple posts & tales of your chillies!! :A

RR hope you're soon feeling better and Lou - hope your little man picks up soon. Fairy - I hope your daughter sees sense.

    Happy Birthday Jackie O :bdaycake:

Busy day at work followed by lovely sausage & mash.

Hopefully my promotion will be made permanent this week after doing the job temporarily for the last 6 months. Never thought I'd become a career girl again at my age!! It's tiring but I'm loving it and loving the extra money even more.

I know I'm very fortunate to be in this position when colleagues & friends also working in local government are hanging onto their jobs.

Just need to be more organised at home but I'm getting there. Meal plans coming along fine.

    ((Hugs)) for all in need.

  • Ruby shingles can be nasty....when I worked in ID we would get people in for IV treatment for it. Do make sure you go back if you get a rash along any nerve line x
