Patatas bravas
- a great, cheap Spanish spicy potato recipe using chopped tomtoes, chilli garlic and seasoning. Lots of recipes, here's one:

(i use dried chilli flakes and dried parsley to make it cheaper!)

Hi,
Sorry if this has been answered before but everytime I try and click on the links in the index my stupid laptop won't open them - keeps saying problem connecting with website.
Anyway I have some charlotte potatoes and some baking potatoes that are going to go off soon does anyone have any good recipies that I can make and then freeze so they don't end up on the compost heap!
Thanks0 -
No recipes but check potato bread, scones and hash browns.0

Mashed potatoes.
Potato wedges- Cut into wedges, part cook in microwave or boil on hob, stick in a bag/container with oil and spices/black pepper and freeze.
Hash browns, I use this recipe http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/hashbrowns_12454. I do big batches of these and we have them every weekend and they are fine from frozen.
I know that a lot of the ladies on here do roast potatoes for christmas from the freezer- I guess they parboil them then freeze them with a coating of oil on them?
Oh and I have also made chips for the freezer. Cut into chips, fry off in oil till part cooked, allow to cool and, open freeze on a baking sheet and bag up.
Hope that helps?0 -
thank you- hash browns sounds good will check out that recipie later0

Do you freeze them before frying or after and then reheat them?0 -

I have just cleared out my freezer, and it seems I have roughly 12 portions of pork shoulder to be used up before the next meat shop
I also have a 5lb bag of potatoes, which are on the turn, and so also need using up too!
All I can think of is to create a pork casserole (pork, potatoes, onion, gravy) with some potatoes in and to mash the remaining potatoes and freeze them.
I do use a lot of pork, but normally slow cook them in plum sauce or barbecue sauce with rice, neither of which I think will go with potatoes, which I don't tend to use a lot of.
There has got to be more interesting recipes than basic casserole out there!! I can't bear to throw the potatoes in the bin!0 -
You can make mash chips roasties etc and freeze0
