We all know it, and the list of posters immature enough to keep it going is pretty short.
That is unkind, it had a sort of mewbie feel to it, when he is off on one'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Wow, a lot of posts here! I posted the main idea on the 'Site Feedback' board because thats where your supposed to for suggestions. I then realised that not many people including myself go onto that board, so I created two more threads pointing to the main one - this one and another in the Arms so that anyone who may be interested could put their points of view. It seemed sensible to let people who use those boards to comment on a suggestion that might affect them, I have no 'bee in my bonnet' or anything, I just thought it was a good idea and wanted to see what other people thought.
Thanks for those who took the time to comment, whether you agree (sensible people) or disagree (obvious puppet masters!) .:)

I'd like to think such a stunt is well beneath mewbie, who was generally funny, witty and original. I reckoned he was a quite a decent chap overall.
This latest batch of nonsense is just pathetic.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Actually I think it is wholly wrong to suggest 100 posts or similar before you can post on this forum.
Who do you all think you are? Get over yourselves! You have no divine right to be here or make any statements about what criteria should exist for posting on this board.
And many/most of you posted here without 100 posts.
Ridiculous & hypocritical imo.
I've been here 2 years. In all that time, I've made very few posts on other boards. I read some of them occasionally, but rarely contribute. This board is where my interest lies, so this board was pretty much my sole reason for signing up.
This thread smacks of double standards. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

How could you have signed up just to post on this board when its not even visible unless you sign up?
Newbies are not allowed to post links in their posts at first to stop spammers, no one is up in arms about that and if it works to stop spammers, who is to say that it wont work to stop AE's?
I have to say that I am a little suspicious of people who are against this, especially as I seem to have come under personal attack from the CAPITAL_LETTER_USERNAME brigade of sockpuppets. Perhaps the puppet masters are afraid of the tedious amount of posts they would have to make before they can create a sockie?0 -

When I signed up, this board was visible (I suggest you read Martins "Important - the future of this board" thread/posting before carrying on down this line of thought).
And I'll also thank you to not suggest that the only people against this are likely to be/have sockies. That is offensive, naive, & you are supposedly better than that.First They came... - Pastor Martin Niemoller

I didnt realise this, so I can now understand where your coming from, but the fact remains that new newbies can no longer see the discussion boards and so now would not join MSE just for these.lemonjelly wrote: »And I'll also thank you to not suggest that the only people against this are likely to be/have sockies. Sorry, Your completely right, its unfair to suggest this. All I can say in my defence is that I was a bit rattled by some of the posts aimed at me, rather than my idea. Lol, how naive of me not to expect to come under some sort of attack from the puppet masters for my suggestion. I guess though it means that they are rattled, so perhaps my suggestion is a good one?
Still, it was not fair for me to suggest that everyone who is against my idea uses AE's, so I withdraw that comment.0 -

Having to make 100 posts elsewhere on the board before coming here would probably help a lot.
I think 100, or even 50 is an excessive ceiling. I don't know how many posts I had before I came to this specific board. It seems daft to suggest people have to post elsewhere to get into this board (if it is this board they want to participate on).Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature.
