Debate House Prices

In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. • Banned users returning with new usernames are a bit of a problem on this board, and from what I have seen, on the other 'hidden' discussion boards such as Discussion Time and The Arms.

I've come up with a partial solution and was wondering, if anyone is interested, if people could spare the time popping on the thread and lending a bit of support to it (or critique it if they feel it wont work).

The thread is here in the MSE feedback board:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3031042

I know that if people are determinedly sad enough to keep creating usernames, there isnt much that can be done, but having to make several posts on other non-hidden boards (20/30/50?) before they can post on here/DT/Arms might just be too much of a hassle that they either stop doing it, or they modify their behaviour so they dont get banned so often and have to start all over again.

Anyway, just a thought. Please have a look and perhaps give the thread a 'bounce' if you have time.

    Cheers. :)

Just a thought, but are MSE that bothered with sock puppets.
It helps with the figures when they go for advertising.

Cut out the sock puppets and you'll probably quarter the membership.

Here is a couple of his sockies (FCUnited is one as well):)

Oh and another impressive feature of DD sockies was the forward planning (not so the obvious ones like DD10) he almost created a life for them before he started becoming controversial, a bit like those Spy sleepers that you read about, one goes down and another ('one I prepared earlier') comes off the shelf. I somehow don't think a 100 post rule would defeat the master :)

I think he probably meant affiliate links.

Dithering Dad. He gets banned for sheer nastiness, reinvents himself, is civil for a fortnight and then turns !!!!!! again.

Come off it, he's lasted a lot longer this time.

There's none so zealous as an ex-smoker though and it seems rather appropriate to reflect on that.

The forum is in existance to debate far wider issues than house prices alone. As in many ways HP's are a by product of the wider economic situation.
This forum is in existence to keep the lunatics off the house renting and buying forum. No other reason whatsoever. When the resident loonies get too much, I log off and enjoy real life.

But this will see site traffic drop drastically and Mr Lewis will not like that at all, as that will affect him in the pocket. and no-one likes that.
These boards do not make one penny for the site, and cost something like £100,000 per year. And the presence or absence of a couple of dozen squabbling house price obsessives will make zero impact on the traffic the boards bring to money generating links. You need Mr Lewis far more than he will ever need you.

If you mean just this board, I agree. If you mean the boards in general you are dreaming :) The boards generate most of the repeat traffic which then should convert to link clicks.
