loads of nail varnish remover, failing that borrow an army wife trick and shave off the affected areas - won't be too noticeable.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the ideas together.

  • I would have let it dry and then brushed it out using a wire brush
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Somebody mentioned to me this week that they had an incident with dark nail polish on a cream carpet and they used hairspray to get it out? They said there wasn't a mark left on their carpet afterwards. I'm not sure exactly what they did after spraying it on but maybe if you google it then you will find the exact method. HTH.

If you try the hairspray, once its sprayed whilst its wet using a cotton bud work the polish towards the centre and you should find that the polish transfers onto the cotton bud. You can also gently dab the area on to a clean lint free cloth. You want to keep the stain wet to help get it out. Hairdressers use hairspray to get hair dye out of their tunics if the spill it.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • DD put a bottle of clear nail varnish in her coat pocket and the lid was loose, covering the pocket with nail varnish

I have washed the coat immediately but it has left the pocket rock hard and with white marks from the other drips that leaked from the pocket. Does anyone have any idea how I can get the nail varnish out please, the coat is a dark green colour so it would need to be something that doesn't bleach the area.

    Many thanks

Infanticide, whist tempting, is a bad idea.

Try all nail polish removing chemicals on the pocket inside first rather than onto the trickles down from said pocket.

Get the plainest acetone (unscented, uncoloured) you can - ask the pharmacist at Boots rather than the make-up assistants.

When all else fails, consider unstitching the existing pocket & putting a new different (larger) pocket over the area - if the design (& ahem trend aware daughter?) permit?
    All the very best.

Funnily enough, infanticide was my first thought but with her being 16 I'm not sure I could get away with it! :rotfl:

thank you, I will pop down to Boots and see what I can find, I am sure that even if I manage to rectify the problem the coat will no longer be 'good enough' but I will try it and see what happens.
