there are suggestions here; I'll merge this later to keep tips together.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
We only had the carpet put down a matter of weeks ago. My daughter got herself some bright pink nail varnish at the car boot sale the other day. She left it where her little sister could get it. She then hid under the bunk beds trying to use it. Thankfully it is only a few smears, but I still need to try to clean it off.
The carpet is a stone-type colour, and I have tried nail varnish remover with no success. I have put a toy box over it so that dh doesn't see it. He would go mental!!!! Needless to say, the nail varnish was confiscated very fast!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I found this on another site for you so can't take ay credit for it...
Arm yourself with a toothbruch, kitchen paper, hairspray and nail polish remover. pour a bit of nail polish remover on to the stain and rub with the toothbrush, keep rubbing it and spray a bit of hairspray on it, blot with kitchen paper, repeat as necessary.:A

try some acetone from the chemist, the nail varnish remover may not contain enough! but make sure the room is well ventilated and try to cover your nose and mouth when using it, and for chrissakes DONT smoke or light any naked flames until the smell dissipates! I think there is also a stain devil which claims to remove nail varnish, but as I havent tried it I cannot reccomend it.0

This works, my daughter did the same with my balck cherry nailpolish on a cream carpet, be patient and gently and it comes away nicely0 -
Would definately agree about the acetone - test it to make sure the liquid doesn't melt the carpet first!! Then saturate the area and work from the outside in to the centre. Perhaps before you do this you should look at how far down the pile the stain goes, if its only on the top, get a razor blade and shave off the stained bits. You honestly don't notice it !Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Hi there all
My DD had her friend over to play at the weekend and the little dear dropped some 'hot pink' nail varnish on my DD's new beige carpet :eek::eek::eek:
Anyone have any wonderful ideas for removing
I could cry0 -
WD40 gets rid of normal wood varnish and wood stain, might be worth a try (doesn't stain the carpet in my experience)0

nail polish remover.. acetone free (or it melts the plastic fibres in the carpet
).. dab with cotton wool .. do not rub!!! It comes out easy peasy!
