  • Just nipped into Sainsburys and came out £42.26 poorer  I only wanted some salad and nibbles for tea because i am too tired to cook.

Worked last night, slept a few hours while DC watched a DVD, then they went to the park with my aunty. We all walked the dog through the woods and he decided to roll through fox poo :o Smelt really good on the way home ! He has been hosed down in the garden and smells slightly better :rotfl:

Way behind this week with the housework & never ending ironing basket, need to sort it but too lethargic today- need another lie down first !!

  • Have a wonderful time, just the ticket, eat drink and be merry x

  • Fab hols, but.... now back to work and the holiday is fast becoming a memory  have recharged the batteries and it was so good to all spend time together, however i did spend over my budget :o

I am in a pickle (yet again ) with the old money problems, i never used my CCs (deliberately left them at home) but i did chip into the bank balance i had and so now my current balance is close to zero , but i shall not get low over it, i intend to knuckle down and stick at it. I have not got myself into any more debt but i have also not cleared any existing debts either, but the minimum payments have been paid.

I need to stick to a cash budget each week, keep my spending diary and work an extra shift or two at work.

Hope all is going well for you all.

  • Yes, my washing machine worked overtime too following the hols!!

DC all back to school tomorrow, i think the school hols went really fast and the DC never fell out with each other too much.

    Plans for new school term:
*Walk the school run, with the dog (save me time having to walk him later in the day )
*Pack healthier, cheaper school lunches (no more bags of crisps or biscuit bars :o )
*Nag DC to sort their bags/ uniforms/ shoes the night before (no more frantic searching at 08.15 !! )
*Make smoothies for breakfast (no more throwing away the brown bananas )
*Cut down on the amount of TV the DC watch when they come in from school- they watch awful cr*P on the Disney channel & i am far too embarrased to admit how many hours of this they watch
*Stick to a meal planner, use the slow cooker at least 3 times a week (this will enable me to cook it in the morning and free some time later )

Of course, i also need to get on track with the money saving, have slipped up over the holidays spending on the DC, will go back to cash & my spending diary.

  • HI Glad you had a good holiday.

I will also admit to my DD watching way too much TV and its all american drivel with those awful whining voices.

Tv is banned in the morning and they have to lay out their uniform before going to bed and bag packed for any after school sports, they now know that if we get as far as the garden gate and a book etc has been forgotten then its tough its amazing how quickly they learn, i will go back for a lunch box though i'm not that mean.

Thinking of supervised packed lunch making, they make there sandwich and pack yoghurt, fruit etc, whilst i supervise whilst drinking my morning cuppa.
