Problems with O2 - Can someone settle an argument?
Comments
-
Another phone call to O2. They state work was carried out on the 11th and the engineer reports everything appears fine. So O2 now claim it could be ("could" being the appropriate word here) my handset.
O2 appear to be clutching at straws here. If it is, bit uncanny that my girlfrinds iP4 went down at exactly the same time. So two handsets went down. What are the chances of that happening and what are the chances that as soon as we leave the area, BOTH handsets are working without any glitches on the O2 service.
O2 state they need to contact the engineer to say were still having problems and will get back to me later today.0 -
O2 have rang me.
They have confirmed it is definately a O2 service problem, but they are still trying to work out exactly what it is. What the engineer did say was that it was NOT my handset, which is a relief but I already knew that. I just have to sit tight and wait untill the issue, what-ever-it-is is resolved, when-ever-that-is.0 -
I have signal problems where I live with 3 O2 phones (2 Iphones and 1 XDA).
I tried loggign faults with O2 but they went no where. Signal drops off where I live and I never get a 3G signal (even though O2 say its a high area for 3G).
If I set to 2G only then I can hang on to a few bars but sometimes I walk round the house and lose the signal. I checked using the Ofcom site where the base station was and they were all relatively close.
I gave up with trying to contact them and progress the fault as they wern't interested. I have until September when my contract is up and I'm moving networks.

Hiya. . . Yes, I have turned my 3G off, but I am still having issues even with 2G. O2 have already acknowledged this. Although a iP4 running on 2G power does seem to defeat the object. I had to laugh when O2 moaned at me that they have tried a number of times to ring my mobile and that it keeps going to voicemail - well, obviously, O2 's service is down. When I spoke with an O2 engineer he said that they are baffled by why people (including myself) in the area are having issues. So it's not an isolated case. Maintainence was carried out over the weekend with the 2G service, and it seems to have made it a lot worse.
Seems to be a never ending story.0 -
I had to ring O2 again yesterday after discovering that when last week they gave me a FREE months use of web/wifi due to the problems, they have been charging me for the past week and deducting it from my credit. It wasn't until yesterday morning when the service popped back up for a few minutes that I was able to check my balance.
When I spoke with them, at first they were not interested in refunding me. They did in the end but it took me making a complaint and asking for a copy of the telephone conversation from a week ago. Then when they said again the free months use was in loo of the problems, they said that if and when the service is back to normal to contact O2 and get the free month lifted.
They have a nerve.
They said it was a free "month" due to the problems. If the service is repaired and back to normal next week, it's still a free month of use for me. They stated that, regardless if the service is repaired and running. Which as of today it's still playing up.0 -

O2 are rubbish.
I fully understand how you feel. I have been with O2 for 13 years and this is the first problem I have had with them. Being my first I was preparred to shrug it off, but as other problems mount, I am seriously thinking of switching over to another provider if these problems are not resolved soon.
Only issue is that I have a large amount of credit left on my O2 sim (£80) which I would lose if I ditched O2.0 -
Still no end in sight.
Yesterday while in Wolverhampton, no 3G network and even 2G was struggling and kept going off.
Went into the O2 store to be told the network was down (wow, modern day Sherlock Holmes works at O2). When I explained the issues we were having, I was told that a transmitter in West Bromwich had been upgraded. What has a transmitter in West Bromwich got to do with it? Totally differant post code with a good 8 miles in between. So when I asked, all I got was the shrug of the shoulders from the shop assistant. When I said that a case had been opened with O2, he suddenly decided to no longer talk to me, and just said a number of times "speak with Customer Services".
Unfortunatley, I found no other network that could even come close to the price I already pay with O2. Orange became far too expensive when I went instore and spoke with them at length about switching. 3, T-Mobile, and Vodafone were the same.
Looks like I will have to put my complaint into letter form.
It's been over 3 weeks now and still no service.0 -
