    hello ladies.

not been around for a while, just been lurking in the back ground :)

had my scan yesterday at 12+5, got to see my little baby again, it's changed so much since 8 weeks, when it was just a blob with a heartbeat :D

the scan was amazing, despite it being 40 mins late and me with a very full bladder :rotfl:i had to go empty it a bit otherwise i'd of wet myself!!! was having my scan and my bladder was too full!!! so i had to go empty it some more, it was still too full after that and i had to empty it completely! :rotfl:baby wasn't playing ball as it was facing the wrong way - it was facing my back rather than my front and refused to turn round as it was trying to have a little sleep :D we saw it's arms and legs - it had a little wriggle when it was poked and prodded - and even more amazingly we saw it's tiny brain! NT measurements were got despite it being the wrong way up and hopefully all is ok there.

i was also moved forward to 13+3 from 12+5. so does that mean i now go with these new dates? i'm really not sure, or do i stick with my LMP dates?

Yeah, i'd go with the new dates. They are more accurate than the initial estimation from the Dr/Midwife :)

I'd defo go with the new dates Little Angel :) my midwife has me at 7+6 but I'm confident I'm 8+1, not a huge difference I know but my dates make me due on my 30th birthday which I think is cool :D!

Booking in appointment went really well, blood and wee taken and the midwife is really nice albeit really busy! Was rather surprised to be given my notes to keep, fairly sure they didn't do that when I had DS ten years ago! Also because there are ten years between pregnancies they are treating me as if its my first so I get extra mw appointments which I'm really pleased about! I should get an appointment for dating and nuchal fold scans in the post pretty soon, apparently they try to scan between 11 and 13 weeks down here so fingers crossed its sooner rather than later!

All feels so much more real now! Sooooo excited!!

Does anyone know if its ok to tell your boss verbally or if it legally has to be in writing?

You can tell your boss verbally at this stage. When you are 25 weeks you will have to give them a MATB1 form which you get from MW.:)

Hi everyone, not posted for what seems like ages but do pop in a couple times a week to catch up on how everyone's getting on.

Well, had my scan on Monday, thought I was 12+4 but actually 11+1 and carrying twins!! Complete shocker. Have to go back on the 22nd for my screening scan so at least I get to see them again soon! At least this explains my enormous bump already which I was getting really paranoid about!

is it ok to ride a bike in early pregnancy?

i am going to centre parcs next month and will want to take my bike. i am not a regular bike rider so i am not sure if it will cause any problems.

    what do you think?

Definitely OK to ride a bike in early pregnancy - I ride my bike to work most days, and my GP says it's fine until you get bigger, as then it can affect your balance. Hope you have a great time, I know my son would love Centreparcs but whenever we've looked into going we've always gone  at the prices.

Rach, many congrats on your twins, how lovely!!

I am jen - i am a nanny too, i look after a 6 year old and 18 month old. I have been worrying about picking up the child too. I have also only been in the job 5weeks but know what you mean about building up a bond and being a friend. X
Oh neat. Do you have ideas about when you're going to talk to your boss? Today, at work, I was yawning like mad (yesterday too) and their housekeeper says to me "are you having sleeping trouble Jen?" Um.....:p

if they were your own children you would pick them up.. just be sensible and careful so you don't pull your back
Maybe. I just keep reading things that say not to lift more than about 20 lbs. I do know pregnant women who didn't lift their toddlers, but everyone is different. One of the girls loves to ride on my shoulders, a sort of treat we started some time ago. That gives me some pause, but today I didn't hesitate to pick up munchkin #2 when she had a "need a cuddle" moment.

rwb..I definitely have the white ickiness. I mentioned it to my acupuncturist even, but didn't think of it as a pregnancy sign until after I'd taken the test(s). Ditto the mild cramps/slightly period like pains. They sort of come and go. I know it's weird, but I actually sort of welcome them at this point....a little reminder that someone's in there. :) SVsandy...I've done that a couple of times too (and it's only been 5 days...hee)

durham...here's hoping that everything's going well for you tonight. What a nerve-wracking time pregnancy is!

I am jen- i was going to wait until my scan and booking in appiontment on 21st of this month but am un sure. my problem is i only see my f boss for 5 min a day (dad does handover at end of day) and i have told him quite a few things before that either do not get relayed back or he forgets bits lol. So i think if she works from home one day i will tell her. They other thing is i have only been there for 5 weeks so have not really built up the relationship yet. When were you thinking of telling your boss. X
