Nuchal fold scan & blood test, I was made to feel because i'm 35+ now that the risk is a lot higher, so dont know whether to have the test or not. So how many of you have been offered it & are having it done.0

not been around for a while, just been lurking in the back ground
had my scan yesterday at 12+5, got to see my little baby again, it's changed so much since 8 weeks, when it was just a blob with a heartbeat
the scan was amazing, despite it being 40 mins late and me with a very full bladder :rotfl:i had to go empty it a bit otherwise i'd of wet myself!!! was having my scan and my bladder was too full!!! so i had to go empty it some more, it was still too full after that and i had to empty it completely! :rotfl:baby wasn't playing ball as it was facing the wrong way - it was facing my back rather than my front and refused to turn round as it was trying to have a little sleepwe saw it's arms and legs - it had a little wriggle when it was poked and prodded - and even more amazingly we saw it's tiny brain! NT measurements were got despite it being the wrong way up and hopefully all is ok there.
i was also moved forward to 13+3 from 12+5. so does that mean i now go with these new dates? i'm really not sure, or do i stick with my LMP dates?
Congrats Little Angel - the scans are amazing aren't they!!:j:j
xDxFear is temporary, regret is forever.....:happyhear Baby girl born 27th September - 10 days late!! :happyhear0 -
Durham 05- I dont think i am having the nuchal scan, i have looked into it and i dont like the idea. Not sure how well that will go down with the midwife though. I spoke to the hospital when i was booking my scan and explained it to them, they said they understood and it was complety my choice. Will have a chat with the midwife, am i right in saying that the major contributing factor is my age and family history. Please feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

Hope you have a great time, I know my son would love Centreparcs but whenever we've looked into going we've always gone  at the prices.
Rach, many congrats on your twins, how lovely!!
the extras are really expensive though! dread to think how much you could spend if you took a couple of kids!!
would love to go with the baby next year0 -

We've decided to have the scan and if it comes back high risk then we will probably have the CVS or amnio. I'm not entirely comfortable with it but due to our personal circumstances I'm trying to be practical about things but its been a tough decision to make.0 -

I feel so sick today. I've been eating little bits here and there so my tummy isn't empty but it feels really hollow and I am so tired. I think it's the tiredness making me feel really unwell.

Well, had my scan on Monday, thought I was 12+4 but actually 11+1 and carrying twins!! Complete shocker. Have to go back on the 22nd for my screening scan so at least I get to see them again soon! At least this explains my enormous bump already which I was getting really paranoid about!
How did I miss this!!?? Massive congratulations! How wonderful!:j
