Congrats countrybum, I occasionally look at the other threads too and saw how exciting your BFP was before your IVF, you must have been thrilled
I am 10+3 ( still no scan date or booking in appointment, boooooo!) I don't post much as I am still nervous (and don't know much!) but shall try to answer some questions!
My symptoms have been mixed but generally mild, boobs slightly sorer and hubby says they are bigger! I've had a sicky taste in my throat ( mostly in the evenings) but never been sick. I am not constipated but things are a lot slower that end! The sickyness started at 6 weeks ish and is fading now.
I am sleeping more and given up swimming for the first 12 weeks, otherwise the same ( actually no bd ing either, we are both too nervous!)
I've told both sets of parents and some close friends who I would tell if I miscarried, basically all the people I told last time ( had a miscariage in feb)
Otherwise Congrats and wishing you a healthy and happy stay here!DFW Nerd #1310 -
- how do you feel? Any different? Any symptoms?
I became very quickly aware that I was responsible for a another life so am really over cautious now. I feel quite ill most evenings but during the day it isn't too bad - just bloated and have trapped wind!
- when does MS generally start?
Nausea started around 7/8 weeks and sickness started around 10-11 weeks. I'm now 17 weeks and still being sick every morning but i'm one of the unlucky ones it seems.
- are you doing anything differently in terms of lifestyle/work now you're pg?
I'm more tired so i'm not making too many evening plans.
- have you told anyone yet?
Everyone knows now as we told people after our 12 week scan. Close friends knew around 5/6 weeks as I wanted somebody to talk to.
- what happens at the booking appointment?
they go through all yours and your oh's medical history, take some blood, urine and your bp and they weigh you
- have you started to show yet?
Around 14 weeks I started to show.:jBaby Boy born December 20120 -
- how do you feel? Any different? Any symptoms?
I felt fine until 6 weeks or so (the way the doctors count) - my first symptom was bigger tender boobs! Later on the nausea started, didn't throw up much but did a little. Also suddenly went off usual foods and onto non-usual foods, completely off tea/coffee. Now at 16 weeks and feeling normal (aside from burping violently after food which it seems will stay with me for the duration!)
- when does MS generally start?
Mine did take a while to start, can't remember exactly when, and it seems to be finished now. It was a bit worse just when waking up (I got OH to bring me toast with peanut butter in bed, which I ate while horizontal, and took my time getting up). The rest of the time it was more of a continual slight nausea, like if you're getting car sick.
- are you doing anything differently in terms of lifestyle/work now you're pg?
was quite tired in first trimester, otherwise no
- have you told anyone yet?
we told after the scan
- what happens at the booking appointment?
paperwork and blood. And pee-in-a-bottle. And lots of things to read.
- have you started to show yet?
I popped out a day or so before our scan (13+3), it was quite odd I was lying in bed and could feel myself expanding.... Now a definite pot-belly but probably still at the situation where nobody would dare ask!0 -
thanks for your input ladies. I feel a little paranoid that something is going to go wrong, so trying not to think too far in advance - think we'll be happier about things after the scan:D
Apart from that, don't know how I'm supposed to feel -just have a mild tummy ache (like af!!). Really hope I don't suffer from MS - my Mum did so I'm kinda expecting it. If I do, no idea how I'll manage to hide it from all at work! Any tips?0 -
Hi countrybum - that is absolutley amazing - congratulationS!!!! Welcome on here too. I'm still fairly new here (6+4) but I've put my 2 pennies worth in.countrybum wrote: »Hi Ladies:wave:please can I join you? I'm 'promoting' myself from the TTC and TTC+12 boards!!! I'm 31, DH and I married for 6.5 years. Been trying for 2 years, NTNP for about 4 years. Got our BFP on Thursday (5 days before starting IVF).
My head is spinning to be quite honest, never thought this would happen. I've got loads of questions - hope you can answer some of them
- how do you feel? Any different? Any symptoms?
Sore boobs for ages althought that's a bit better now. This week I've been so tired it's untrued - I've been sleeping for 9 hours a night and needing a 2 hour nap at the weekend.
- when does MS generally start?
I've not been sick yet but this week (week 6) I've felt really naseaus for the first time. Kind of like a really bad hangover where you need to puke to make yourself feel better but you can't.
- are you doing anything differently in terms of lifestyle/work now you're pg?
Yes but only cos I work on a farm so my day to day role involves chemicals and raw eggs so I've had to avoid some jobs
- have you told anyone yet?
Both sets of parents for practical reasons as I work for both sets of parents. And I wanted them to know. One really good girlfriend who I know I'd want to tell if I mc. Other than that the plan is not to tell anyone till 12 weeks. Not sure I'll be able to hold out that long!
- what happens at the booking appointment?
I had a doctors appt last week and they basically checked I'm normal and healthy with no other problems. Got my appt with mw two weeks tomorrow (the mw won't see you till 8 weeks).
- have you started to show yet?
In my dreams! I have gone up 2 cups sizes in my bra though!
thats all I can think of for now!!!
thanks for listening

Rups32 - sorry you are not feeling too good, you take care of yourself.
Hi Country bum - saw your news on the TTC +12, ask all the questions you need, you get plenty of reassurance on here. I also got a few mild tummy aches, but as someone said if you had any kind of bleeding and it got worse, then try not to worry too much. Morning sickness well - don't think you really can, I told my team leader and she offered the use of the toilet in the first aid room but it is a lot further than the ladies and felt I would end up being sick on the way to that room in the corrider in full view of everybody. I have had very little actual sickness, but just bring up saliva. Poor old hubby had to listen to me at 7am this morning! Good knows what the neighbours think on hearing me!
Got a rather shirty letter from my mother yesterday giving me another row about when my scan is, had been telling her it was the 19th but she thought it was yesterday, and of course, that is all my fault so was a bit upset, but have put it behind me now, OH saw the letter and was annoyed with her as well. (only my mother can give me a row in a letter!)
Still getting some sickness and still tired, with my fil death mananged to negoiate a week off work, as I explained to my heo, have been ill for the last 3 weeks and very tired, was drinking a bottle of coke everyday last week at work just to keep awake! and said that I wanted to use this week to try and get myself fully fit, given that most of last week and the previous weekend me and other OH have not been sleeping well due the issues relating to late fil illness. Next couple of days might be emotiaonal as they have the reception of the remains tomorrow evening and then the funeral on Friday.
Been making some Baby annoucement cards for when we break the news, OH had wondered about telling people now, but given the situation I felt that it would be wrong, this week is about my late father in law. A few people have been commenting that I am looking peaky! Nearly passed out in the hairdressors today!
Hope everyone else is getting on okay and that most of your symptoms start to calm down.0 -
Hello ladies,
Countrybum, massive congratulations to you and your DH :j
I am no expert as I am only 7 weeks and 3 days but...
How do you feel? Any different? Any symptoms?
Really sore nipples, burping after large meals, some nausea and have actually been sick twice, get really tired (my eyes start drooping at about 10pm).
When does MS generally start?
Mine was the first hint that I was pg (I wasn't expecting AF for another 2weeks but obviously my mc kickstarted more "normal" cycles). I was about 5 weeks. However, I think that tiredness and eating a re-heated carbonara (oops!) contributed to my early nausea and sickness!
Are you doing anything differently in terms of lifestyle/work now you're pg?
Just not lifting anything heavy and getting a trolley rather than a basket when I pop to the supermarket for a small shop.
Have you told anyone yet?
Have told both sets of parents, siblings and their partners, grandparents and a very close friend. I also told the two ladies in my department (who suspected I was even when I didn't think I was) as I am a teacher and as I had been sick I thought it best they knew just in case I had to run out and abandon my class! I was then advised to let the Head's PA know so if there was any chickenpox etc at school I would be informed.
What happens at the booking appointment?
I have mine on the 25th! But I have heard (as the other ladies have said) that it is just blood and urine tests plus loads of questions about family history.
Have you started to show yet?
Not yet but I am only 7w+3. Definately feel a bit bloated though, like I did on my "fat" days.
Sorry I haven't posted much but I have been reading. I was very sick yesterday morningbut I look on the positive side and see it as baby trying to tell me everything is going ok.

Congratulations Countrybum!
- how do you feel? Any different? Any symptoms?
I'm 18 weeks now, but early symptoms were massive sore boobs and incredible bloating, which settled down after a few weeks. Also v slow digestive system, and became really gassy(glamour all the way here!)
- when does MS generally start?
I started feeling a bit queasy around 7-8 weeks, but it kicked in really badly around 9 weeks and lasted til 14 weeks or so. Was tricky at work as it's a longish run to the loos and I nearly didn't make it a few times. Still get the odd day now.
- are you doing anything differently in terms of lifestyle/work now you're pg?
Workwise I had to tell my boss asap and stop some parts of my job ad I work in a lab. Otherwise, carried on as normal as much as I could.
- have you told anyone yet?
We told parents right away, and I told my best friend. We told our close group of friends a few weeks later as had 2 hen nights and a wedding before 12 weeks. Everyone else we waited til after the scan.
- what happens at the booking appointment?
As others have said, medical history, blood tests, lots of forms/leaflets etc, and you get your first Bounty pack.
- have you started to show yet?
By 12 weeks I couldn't do up any trousers/skirts without using a hair bobble to extend the button! Now feel like I'm starting to look pg rather than.tubby at 18 weeks, but I had a fat belly before so hard to tell! Must get DH to take a bump pic tonight actually! I wish we'd taken one right at the start to compare.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hi countrybum, massive congrats !!!
6+3 here, 2 child.
How do you feel? Any different? Any symptoms?
Really sore nipples, my tummy is upset and some pain in my lower abdomen, can not sleep at night at all despite being a girl that could sleep 12hs + per day lol. No nausea, no sick, feeling ok here.
When does MS generally start?
I really don'tknow, did not suffer with it in my first pregnancy and so far feel this one will be the same.
Are you doing anything differently in terms of lifestyle/work now you're pg?
Not lifting heavy things, that's all.
Have you told anyone yet?
Told my family ( they live abroad), my oh's parents, brother and nana. I am waiting till the 12 wk scan to tell people, but i might tell everyone around 10 wks.
What happens at the booking appointment?
Questions, tests, and lots to read.
Have you started to show yet?

Did everyone have a scan at their booking in appointment??? I want my DH to come to the scan but haven't told DH to come to my booking in appointment as my letter says that at the appointment they will tell me the date of my first scan. Don't want DH to miss it! Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0
