Emylou, if your GP hasn't called back, give NHS direct a ring or your midwife and they should be able to advise you.

    Try not to panic.

emylou - try not to panic - I know easier said than done - I came into contact with children I was teaching who had it, on the day I found out about my BFP. I went to the GP the next day, and she sent me for a blood test at the hospital (bloods session had finished at the surgery) to test for immunity. The majority of people tend to have come into contact with it at some point in childhood, even if they didn't develop the full symptoms, so it is likely that you will have immunity to it too (I luckily did). It took just under 2 weeks to process the results, which felt like ages to me, but at least now I know I'm immune. I didn't have to take any antibiotics or anything whilst I waited. I don't think the itchy feet have anything to do with, and hopefully your temperature is just another bug you've picked up. I'm sure the GP will get you in for a blood test anyway to be on the safe side.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Update

Apparently my GP says it's a virus so there's nothing that can be done/I need to do!?
I said I'd read that I should have a blood test but the Receptionist just said "that's not what the Dr says".
The antenatal clinic numbers are going through to answer phone. Do I need to call NHS direct or should I just call my the antenatal clinic in the morning?

It is a virus - it's the parvovirus. I would see if you can get hold of the early pregnancy unit at your hospital in the morning if the GP is being unhelpful. They are right though that they won't be able to give you anything for it if you do have it, but they should be able to monitor you a bit more, and at least put your mind at rest as to whether you are immune or not.

I was in contact with a child with Slapped Cheek about 4-5 weeks ago on a daily basis. The thing is that the child is infectious before the symptoms appear so there is nothing you can do at this stage. I called GP too and he offered the blood test but I refused. I had a private scan 9 days later and all was good.

Thank you ladies for your support. I feel really lost but holding up as much as possible. I am devastated for OH, he is suffering so much and frankly at the age of 35 he supposed to thrive. The past 4 months have been hard on both of us, he was so healthy back in January. He is beating himself up for not being here for me but thankfully Bean co-operates and doesn't make me feel sick at all. He was away for a month before Easter than I flew out to see him, came back together as he needed to sort out his work/sick note/etc and now is back again. Frankly no chance that I will see him before the end of May mainly because I can't take ad-hoc days off and there are no Saturday flights to his city (flying to the next nearest airport doesn't make sense as I would need to spend 6 hours on the train to get to his city). We have a holiday booked for the end of May but we will not go so I will go and see him.

I'm thinking now telling my boss that I'm pregnant (will wait till scan) but not sure how to approach the subject. Feeling a bit nervous.

    hi everyone

littlemoog- congrats on your scan sounds like you had a lovely time seeing the heartbeat as well.

haras_nosirrah- congrats on your 12 week scan as well.

hello and welcome to anmarj hoping that your 12 weeks go smoothly and quickly for you.

kavics17- so sorry about your oh i thought he was away on work, it must be tough for you if you ever need to chat remember someone is always here, hoping that the polish doctors can do the best for your oh.
and he can come to you as soon as possible.

my oh has been away for a few days every week i know its not similar though, hes been going to see and help with his mum as shes ill and back and for hospital. Hes been away since sunday now and not sure when hes getting back as he is awaiting hospital and his mum being settled before coming back.

Its tough being on my own, today has not been a good day feeling a bit vulnerable and worrying a lot and not having anyone to bounce back off just makes me worry even more.

I woke up this morning, not feeling sick or hungover which i thought wow thats different but my tummy didnt feel as bloated either and felt quite flat, my boobs still hurt though. My tummy just down below by the hair line used to feel quite hard and i thought that was where the uterus is (a little above the hairline), that sometimes the midwife feels for? but today it feels soft and not hard at all.

I dont know if im just being really paranoid because my symptoms seem to have disappeared and i feel a bit different or what? I must have miscarried at about 8 weeks last time but didnt find out till 11 weeks but i do remember symptoms disappearing last time but i just thought it was normal as you come up to the 12 week mark but then i miscarried so im just worrying thats its just happening all over again.

it sounds mad but i think i would rather be sick the whole 12 weeks at least then i have a consistent symptom.

Also I had my what i thought was my booking in appointment with my midwife yesterday but all she did was weigh me and measure my height and give me all the forms to fill in and all the books to go with it. The bounty pack said do not use after the 30/3/12! and the big pregnancy book (which i assume is what people on here have been taking about the nhs not giving and telling people to go on the internet instead) says 2008/2009 on it! so how useful that is if anything major has changed i dont know. The midwife is coming over on saturday to my house to go through what i have filled in on the form and offically book me in then.

emylou- i dont know much about slapped cheek but i did read before about someone had to check with their doctor when they were pregnant as well, so to be safe i would make sure your gp gets back to you soon.
or if not as said try nhs direct.

sorry for the long post but needed to load off on someone tonight, the cats just dont understand :)

    Hi all

A quickie from me. Booked in this morning. Until the scan date arrives and updates can be determined, my EDD is 06/12/12 so this should alter in a few weeks' time.

Cleo - I also had an out-of-date book/vouchers so got a new one this morning.

Hope everyone's ok and not too _pale_

Hugs cleo - I remember how nervous I got before my 12 week scan, and it must be doubly hard having had a miscarriage before too. Hope your OH's mum gets better soon so he can be with you and Bean. I would ask the midwife if you can have a new folder from Bounty, as this one is out of date - they normally carry them around with them anyway, so should have one to swap. I never got the big book that everyone is talking about - I've tended to use baby sites and the book I took out of the library for info though.

Hope anyone who is having scans today enjoys them and they all go well.
