i think you are right. cant worry about every little thing. i guess things like body shop stuff etc can be ok..going to stuff my face with some chicken wings at lunch time. have been wanting these for a while now. hehe

I think it might be because the Elemis stuff can contain lots of essential oils (similar for massages) and many of them are not recommended for use in pregnancy. There are some that are safe though, and most salons will do massages after 12 weeks with the safe ones.

I've used my normal stuff without a second thought. Sounds like they're being overly cautious to be honest.

The only advice I can find is not to use products containing retinoids as these are a form of Vit A I believe. It's worth checking the list of ingredients I guess.

But, you know what? If face creams made your baby have two heads, we'd know about it. I suspect the risks (if there are any) are minimal.

you know by accident i ended up on another post and panicked as couldnt recognise you ladies on there. they actually have a list of every and when their expected delivery dates. is there one here? the one i had joined last time, did that too and it always used to be changing as a result of people leaving to go to the other forum or if they werent successful.

There's also the trying to conceive one, the one for people with fertility problems and the 12 - 24 week one. I visit all of them, but in terms of advice for where you're at now, this thread's the best one for you.

Struggling to keep up with this thread at the mo - but its lovely that its so busy :j:j

Moneypenny - boooo for pukesville!! I wish we didn't have to visit there on our journeys to meeting our babies!! I ended up telling more people than I planned on, because of how ill I have been. I think it would be fairly obvious to some people, and I would rather tell them before they guessed ifswim?

Littlemoog - I am soooooo with you on not feeling bothered to eat sometimes when you know its gonna come back up anyways shortly afterwards. Plus there are now certain things I won't eat at the min cos I know how nasty they taste when they do come back up!

Rups - I had a massage booked and told her i was pregnant and she said to re-book after 12 weeks. She said in reality, that probably no harm would be done at all - but that they aren't insured to do any work on pregnant ladies before 12 weeks. I said it wasn't worth risking as I had waited a long time to get pregnant, so would just wait a few more weeks for my massage. The same lady does a pregnancy pamper package, so she obviously has safe oils and lotions etc to use in pregnancy. I think its another thing like the foods you aren't allowed to eat - they like to err on the side of caution and have you avoid things where possible. I haven't changed any face wash products at all, I'm not over worried about anything.

AFM - not doing too bad at all today. Was sick twice yesterday, but managed to drink 1.5 pints of juice and have 2 ice lollies too. My headache yesterday was intense and I did feel ill most of the day. Today I haven't actually been sick yet!!!! And I've had 5 ice lollies so far, lol! And a cup of tea which went down a treat Still got a niggly headache, but nowhere near as intense. Am going to my mums after work and I've had her make up some jelly which I am going to have with some angel delight as they are both made up with loads of liquids. Drinks are still sitting funny and making me queasy on the whole - so I am sooooo pleased I have found this new method for coping. I haven't eaten much today, but I'm not over bothered about that - would much rather I got my fluid level sorted and my headaches went and then I will tackle food afterwards.

Is anyone else struggling with spots? I seem to have loads of them at the mo, and greasy hair - neither of which I suffer with normally. I am not feeling glowing in the slightest! Hope that stage comes soon. I just feel like a bloated spotty greasy puke machine mainly at the mo!

Only 12 sleeps til my scan now, am getting so excited! :j

My chin looks like it's got the bubonic plague! :eek: When I came off the pill I started getting loads of spots on it, but I'd got it under control. Now it's just horrendous, I think it's lack of fruit and veg, plus pregnancy hormones sending my skin out of balance. My hair gets greasier far earlier than normal too.

When does the pregnancy glow kick in? :rotfl: The greasy hair and spots combined with bags under my eyes and burst capillaries on my cheeks and eyelids are not a look I can rock :cool:

edit: ps, Abi, good to see you, I was worried you'd got worse when you didn't post yesterday Glad you've got it all a bit more under control

I can't remember when the 'glow' kicks in, but I'm sure it was earlier than this with DD! I don't look my best at the mo, lol! Altho at least today I do feel slightly more human - will just have to avoid mirrors to keep this feeling inside, lol!!

I felt rubbish yesterday so didn't come on. Felt like i had a migraine and needed to be still in a dark place. My head was soooo bad. Also getting pressure in my nose - like sinus pain which seemed to come in waves with the headache.

I feel loads better today, but still not right if you know what I mean. Feel like I have turned a corner. (Hope so anyway - will be gutted if I go back to being sick loads again tomorrow!!)
