I've come to the conclusion that eating things when feeling sick just gives me something to throw up! Which is infinitely preferable to just heaving, and over faster. On Monday when I was really poorly I burst loads of capillaries around my eyes and I think it's because I couldn't face eating much but was being sick loads.
Today I didn't feel too bad, although I was sick first thing I felt better and went into work but I've just come home as I started throwing up againMy boss is away so I had to tell one of the other team leaders where I was going and why, I feel like my pregnancy is the worst kept secret in the world, especially as I had to run back into the loos retching past ANOTHER colleague this morning
At least after the scan it won't be a secret any more, even if the morning sickness doesn't subside. :rotfl:
Anyway, working from home again, but I really am running out of paperwork to do. Haven't been in the lab since the start of April now, rubbish!:(Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

Even if it is a miracle cure, it's not one I'll be trying, I'm allergic to avocados, they make me violently ill! :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I ate loads of avocados when I was first pregnant. Yum. I'm on to peaches now (good) and cornettos (not so good)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Great news about the scan Cleofish :j:j
Oh I feel so illEnded up taking yesterday off in an effort to recuperate. Was very sick. Really am struggling to keep anything down. Had to come in today tho as I was needed.
This morning I was sick after getting up despite not eating after 12noon yesterday. And then I have just been sick again. I managed some cornflakes with banana and milk for breakfast but it all comes back up again a couple of hours later. I know some nutrients will be absorbed, but its just rubbish. After eating I feel constantly queasy until I am eventually ill. Then I get really hungry a few mins after being sick, so I try and eat something. And then I go back to feeling queasy until I am eventually sick again.
Really struggling with fluids. I know I'm gonna make myself ill and dehydrated (already got headaches, not weeing much and feeling faint) but I don't know what else I can do.Married my lobster in July 2011

Oh Abi you poor thingcould you try some soup or maybe a fruit smoothie? it should empty from your tummy faster so will get into your system. I've also found that food seems to just sit in my tummy for ages, much longer than normal.
Also keep sipping fluids as much as you can. If you're still this bad tomorrow, go to the GP and ask for some advice. They may be able to give you an anti-emetic, or an oral rehydration therapy (dioralyte?) - if you get too dehydrated you may need to be admitted and put on a drip so best to get help sooner rather than later.
edit: it doesn't sound like you're well enough to be at work, no matter how much they need you you and baby are more important. Can you get your brother to drive you home?Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hi ladies.. hope i can join again please?
Having had a mc three months ago, i am quite pleased (and scared too) to find my positive yesterday... am a bit nervous and scared as hell as last time didnt go so well... this time i am having more period type pains. is that normal? I think i am around 4 weeks. went to a gp but as always they are uselss, so seeing a gynae at the same doctirs surgery who will refer me etc etc.. i also had a little bleed when my period was due, and that freaked me out. I was told yest that that is common.. i dont know and will never know what is normal or not? am trying not to freak out and try and be calm but i would be lying if i said i wasnt scared.. sorry long post. xxxBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I've so far tried:
Gingers biscuits
Other dry biscuits
Dry toast
Eating little and often
Fruit
Fruit juice
Ginger in products (such as ginger and rhubarb jam on toast)
Soup
Cereal bars
Crackers
Sipping water slowly
Obviously not all at once - then I would be sick
Nothing seems to be helping at all. I have the odd day where I am ok and just retch, but the last 3-4 days I have literally been sick after every meal (but sometimes not for up to 4 hours after having it).
My tummy is hurting everytime I am sick or retch now.
I haven't tried advacados tho MoneypennyI don't think I actually like them tho.
I kind of am well enough to be at work. In between being sick (which like I say, can be 4 hours apart, sometimes more) I am 'ok' - just queasy. My job is easy - I sit on reception and do some book work, speak to customers etc. I have a toilet within easy access. My boss (brother) is off today as its his little boys 1st birthday. We had a new mechanic start on monday, so we couldn't leave him on his own at the garage on his 3rd day. My brother would have cancelled his day out, but I would only be sat at home feeling sorry for myself instead of sat here.
I am getting worried about the fluids thing now. Am finding it harder and harder to make myself eat and drink when I know its coming back up.
Maybe I should ring the midwife or GP tomorrow if its still no better.
My DD has gone to her dads for the weekend now, and I normally miss her loads, but I'm actually quite relieved not to have to do the school run and entertain her before DH gets home.I will still miss her, but just feel like I need to get better now.

Welcome Rups and congratulationsI'm sorry about your previous miscarriage, it's quite understandable for you to be nervous now. Period/crampy/stretching feelings are all quite normal, due to your uterus starting to expand etc. My midwife said they're not concerned unless the pain is bad enough to cause you to double over (dramatic!) or you also have heavy bleeding.
It's also quite common to get "breakthrough" bleeding at the time your period was due, or it could have been implantation bleeding. If it's a small amount and there hasn't been any more I wouldn't be too worried.
There are lots of calculators online that will give you a rough due date based on your last period, or ovulation date if you know it, but as you've only just got your positive it's likely you're about 4 weeks if your cycles are average.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
i just checked and i am 4+1 today. i know its ages to 12 weeks, but it was a bleed that made me go for an emergency scan to the hospital and thats when they found that the baby wasnt growing last time. so am a bit anxious as to whether i should go for those vaginal scans again to be re-assured.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Welcome & Congratulations Rups :j
I had period type / stretching pains for a little while at first and also an implantation bleed which continued as spotting for 2 weeks or so. I don't think there is a "normal" pregnancy. Everyone has different symptoms and experiences. My pregnancy with DD is a million times different from this pregnancy.
Sorry to hear about your mc, but try not to worry. I know thats easier said than done tho
My advice is to enjoy the pregnancy before the sickness starts;)
