I would think that your two TAs plus the other teacher would be enough for now, as they'll be there to do things you can't, and you could tell other people as and when it becomes necessary? Have you found out about any one else's pregnancy so early? Is it really their normal practise?

Thanks for your reply LittleMoog. I also feel I have told enough people now:mad: I have worked at the school for 1.5 years; the only colleague who got pregnant simce I've been there was actually leaving & only had 2 days left when she found out but she decided to tell everyone despite only being 3 weeks pregnant! (Thankfully she went on to have a healthy pregnancy & now has a gorgeous little girl).
I can understand WHY I have to tell a few people but it's my business & it's just such early days! :(

Has anyone else gone off of tea and coffee?!
Yip, I'm off both of them. Normally couldn't do without my cup of coffee first thing and then a tea or two later on, now I can't face the thought of either really. I'm also not a great water drinker but am drinking more of it than normal, and am trying to drink fruit juices too. You apparently need a lot more liquid than normal to make all the extra blood and stuff so try keep the liquids up!

I've been incredibly thirsty for the last few weeks - yesterday I drank 5 pints of squash (almost 3 litres!), but still felt really dehydrated this morning. I don't know where it's all going as I'm not peeing more than normal. :o

I was able to stomach tea with a small amount of milk in at first, but then went off it completely! I can still face coffee, but have developed bad heartburn after the morning sickness went, and have been told even decaf can make this worse, so rarely even have coffee. I also went off chocolate, so hot chocolate was out too! Basically there aren't any hot drinks I like now.

Little moog I also became more thirsty, and drank at least a pint of water over night too. I spoke to my midwife about it as I was worried that it could be a symptom of diabetes but she said it's perfectly normal and not to worry.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks SM, that's really helpful. I was worrying about diabetes too!

I haven't had any appetite for the last 3 days. I'm just not hungry. :( I don't have any MS at the moment either so it's not that. :(

Anyway, going to Nottingham for the weekend.:)

Can't remember who it was worrying about being too sick, but try not to be too concerned. With baby one I was horribly sick for four or five months, and even after it eased, I couldn't eat anything at work without being sick. Because I kept water down I was basically left to get on with it. Despite this, I had a very decent sized baby, who is now a strapping teenager towering above me! :D

    Hello,

I've not been sick (yet) today - woooohooooo!! :j First day in as long as I can remember (altho its probably only 2-3 weeks, lol!) Still not feeling super and my appetite is rubbish. I've lost nearly half a stone so far, but I had it to lose so I am not overly worried.

I have gone off tea and coffee altogether for now. I did with DD too, but it didn't last throughout the pregnancy. Can't remember when I did start drinking tea again tho. Its not bothering me. All I fancy at the minute is water, and ocassionally some fresh fruit juice instead. So at least I am being healthy with what I fancy!

Have just tried with my doppler. I'm between 7+5 and 9+6 depending on which dates I use. I could hear my heartbeat fine on my heart, and could hear a heartbeat in 2 seperate places in my tummy, but they both sounded more like my heartbeat than a baby's as it wasn't fast enough for a baby. I think I will try again once a week or so until I can hear something. I don't think I did hear baby, but I think it will be too small still to be picked up on. I think baby is only between 2.5-3.5cm between my dates - so really really small still. Am looking forward to being able to hear it properly tho and of course my scan which is less than 3 weeks to go now.

We're telling both sets of families this weekend :j So excited! I think my mum is very much suspecting from when I was sick the other week at work. I did also have a hospital appt yesterday (unconnected with the pregnancy) and was in late this morning to work as I was helping my DD at school. My brother (boss) didn't know where I was so (well, I had told him, but like a typical man he doesn't listen!) I think he has made it sound a little suspicious when my mum asked where I was :rotfl:

LadyM - hope you have a lovely weekend in Nottingham :D

Moneypenny - exciting that you have your scan date through :j

Emylou - Shame that you are having to tell more people that you would have like - and they should have been discrete about it and not discussed it in a corridor like that. Its really helped me telling my boss, as hes a lot more understanding about why I am the way I am at the mo! (off my food, bit tearful at times etc)

I got my scan date:j. Going on the 15th May at 12.45p.m:j.

No booking in app yet but the scan is a first thing and I'm also so happy cause my hospital does cord blood donation which was always important for me! Also will participate in a research regarding pre-eclampsia, will get longer scan appointments and more checks on blood:T.

No sickness here but the constipation is killing me:o.
