  • morning ladies and welcome to all the newbies!

8weeks 4 today and so far it's been an ok morning, that's two days in a row now! :D got a slight queasiness in the background though and still can't go near the fridge without wanting to vomit

i had a migraine the other day, bit concerned as i haven't had one since i came off the combined pill about 5 years ago, think i'll prob go see my gp see what he thinks.

has anyone else's mother turned into a right drama queen since they found out you were expecting? mine has always had a big leaning towards drama queeness, things can't just happen, they have to be turned into a big deal! but with me being preggers and having a fairly bad morning sickness she's behaving as i'm the first woman it's ever happened to. it's driving me and my hubby mad  the other day i didn't answer the phone and she started panicking  wishing i hadn't told her until the baby is at least 18 now.

Happy Monday morning everyone! I've been finding it really hard to sleep on Sunday nights and not sure why I don't oversleep in the morning or nap in the day on Sunday. Only thing i can think is that it's a big Sunday dinner churning about.

You'll be delighted to know I've also been suffering from bloating, wind and other unmentionables. Being at work doesn't help.

I have my dating scan this week as I'm 11-12 weeks based on my last period (expecting scan to put me at 10 weeks though). I will tell my immediate family afterwards (whatever the outcome) and if the result is all ok then I may tell some friends at the weekend. It seems this is the year all our friends have decided to get married I've been invited to 2 hen weekends in July. I'll be 33 and 34 weeks by then so really don't feel I can go off galavanting in fancy dress. And besides, it's gets expensive and I'm trying to save for maternity leave. There's another in May which will be easier and sounds less raucous so I'm looking forward to that.

I don't think your being selfish sequeena. Sleep is sooo important and it's most irritating when your struggling to drop off and then someone starts snoring in your ear!

Anyone else's nails growing REALLY fast? Don't know if it's pregnancy or the vitamins.

I'm turning 30 in March when I will be 9 and a bit weeks gone. It's going to be a dead give away that I'm pregnant if I'm not having a drink on my own 30th Birthday meal!

I've got my docs appt tonight. It's all finally happening, yay!!

I was thinking about how far gone I actually am. I had my last bleed 4th Jan but it only lasted 2 days of full flow whereas I normally have 5 days. To work out how far gone, I was used that date on online calculators and it says that tomorrow I am 5 weeks.

But.... my bleed before that was 16th Dec. The reason I am confused is because my past 5 periods were around 33 days apart, then this 2 day Jan one was 19 days after the previous one. Could that have been an implantation bleed and I'm actually 7 weeks gone?

What do I tell the docs as I don't want to end up with a late scan if it's based on 5 weeks gone not 7.

hope everyone has a great day

Me too! It seems impossible that no one knows because it's all I can think about! I can't wait to tell DS (6), I think we'll try to hold out for a scan first just to make sure everything's ok.

    Hi All

Got room for another one? Have done a test (postitive) and according to the oracle that is the internet since my last period was 27 Dec I should now be 5 weeks pregnant. Going to the Dr tomorrow but my friend (the only person I have told in the *real* world) says not to expect too much and that all the Dr will do is refer me to the hospital.....

Congratulations! You must be due around the same time as me :) I'm now 5+4 and so excited :)

I had my doctor's appointment last week and all that happened was that she booked me into the midwife and asked me a few questions, so your friend is probably right to yell you not to expect too much!

My midwife appointment is on Thursday so I can't wait:)

Feeling quite sick today and have been very tired for the last week or so, in bed most nights for half nine which is not like me!!! I also have some little tummy cramps on and off but no bleeding. My sister had a baby last year and says they are normal bit I can't help worrying a little bit! I'll probably feel better once I've seen the midwife :)

Hope everyone is having a great day :)
