Hello! Can I come in? I had a bfp yesterday at 11 days dpo- which I suppose makes me 3 weeks + 4. I am pretty nervous because it's so early but very excited too! :j
Ashli - that's exactly how im feeling, im 4+3, trying not to get too excited (but kind of not working!) and really nervous at the same time. Quite overwhelmed by it all but sooo happy inside :j

Good morning girlies, it's great to see so many newbies join. Congrats to each of you on your bfps and I wish you happy, healthy pregnancies :)

Jules and skipE I hope things are ok with you two and bleeding has stopped. I'm thinking of you both. I'm one of the ladies who had spotting and cramps at 6 weeks, thankfully it was one of those unexplained things. I really hope your beans are sticky. X

Yippee - 12 weeks today! My scan isn't for a week yet so I won't be shifting from this thread. It seems weird, for some reason I could never envisage getting this far. It must be the worrying side of me.

Gem I hope you and your DH are feeling brighter today. J R I hope you enjoyed yesterday.

    Happy Sundays all round :T
Aww, congratulations on getting to 12 weeks doglover. Must be a great feeling, all the best for your scan next week x

hi welshpolarbear, good to see you over here.

skipe, sorry to hear, will keep fingers crossed for you

what has everyone been using for morning sickness, im getting it all day long and i dont know how to get rid. am trying gin gins which are ginger sweet things and have bought some sickness bands from boots today and i havent thrown up since but still feeling really quesy all day. during the week i run a kitchen so finding it hard workingwith food as the smell of literally anything makes me quesy

anyway hope your all having a nice weekend (sorry for the ramble)

The only thing that works for my morning sickness (also known as 24 hour nausea) is a peeled golden delicious apple. It really settles my stomach for about 3 hours. I am eating about four a day at the moment, I even had one at 3.30am this morning lol.:T

Congratulations to all the new ladies on the thread. x x

To those ladies that have been bleeding. I did exactly the same from week 5 to 6 of this pregnancy and everything now seems fine. Try not to assume the worst...bleeding in early pregnancy is common. x x

I am 8 weeks and 4 days today and I still feel like I have been run over by a truck. However I do have the odd few hours where I feel bubbly and well...so I keep focusing on the fact this carppy morning sickness, tiredness and killer headaches are not permanent fixtures.

Myself and OH have been working a lot of overtime recently to put toward our maternity savings. So for a little treat we have booked to go and see Mamma Mia next month. Has anybody seen it?
I went to see We Will Rock You last year and loved, loved, loved it.

I hope all you ladies are having a relaxing and happy weekend and look forward to a week of good news, happiness and health.

    Love Bam x x
  • Can anyone help with working out my weeks for me? Think I might have got it work. Coming up with 13th October as my due date, but BBC site says i am 3 weeks 4 days, whereas nhs says 4 weeks and others say 4 weeks three days.

I have worked it out by taking date of ovulation (20th Jan) and counting 38 weeks on from there. So do I work out how many weeks I am (in doctors/midwife terms) by counting 2 weeks before ovulation?

If I do that I get 4 weeks three days........

Confused!! Any help would be gratefully appreciated as still have a week and 2 days until my GP appointment.

Just jumping over from the other thread. The docots tend to work it out from the first day of your last period. They don't tend to take into account different cycles etc. That would change when you have first scan though.
  • If i take the first day of my last period (26th Dec) that makes it 6 weeks, which changes things again, but like you say they should adjust it at my first scan.

So do they try and work it to have the first scan 12 weeks from date of last period then? Sorry for all the questions!

Yeah, when you go for your booking in appointment with the midwife she will work out your EDD, like Wendz said from your LMP. If that was 6 weeks ago you should get your scan within 6 weeks or there abouts.

    Congratulations!:D

  • That's acutally quite good as I know that I only ovulated 2 weeks ago! Makes the wait seem a bit shorter at least!!

Thanks for the congratulations TeenieD - wow 11 weeks to go!!! Exciting :j

Yeah it's good that you are further on that you thought! Of couse they may change the dates at your scan but at least you wont be waiting as long to get one!

I know I can't believe I only have 11 weeks, it has come round so fast. All the very best for your pregnancy (I lurk on all the threads to see how everyone is getting on :o;)) x
