I finally plucked up the courage to tell work. Then I started telling my friends. On Wednesday night I had strong stabbing pains in my left side, and yesterday I was bleeding.
The out of hours Gyn Ward told me to phone the EPU in the morning.

Well I have been very relaxed and fateful about this pg, but when the EPU where I had my 6wk scan told me they didn't have any records on me and I should phone the other hospital I lost it. Both they and the other hospital kept asking me "are you having your baby here?". All I could keep saying was "I don't know". I haven't even seen a mw yet, and I thought I was supposed to decide for myself? In any case I can't look that far ahead, I just want to know if my bean is alright NOW.
They finally told me to come in to the other hospital on Monday. They don't have any appointments, but they said they would try and squeeze me in.
I'm trying really hard to think positively. I have lost all my faith in the antenatal care system 'though.

Sorry for the long post. Juat venting a bit.

Hope you're all feeling well and looking forward to the week-end.

    Hi Caelshorn
I'm so sorry your having such a hard time of it :(

Do you know how many weeks gone you are now and when are you seeing the midwife? - can you contact her? - am guessing you don't have your pregnancy notes yet if you haven't seen her that may be why hospital can't find your records.

Hi, I haven't joined any baby forums yet but I have been trying to conceive since Sept last year.

This morning I got my very first positive pregnancy test. I don't think it's quite sunk in yet. I feel the need to do another one to confirm but I am so pleased!!

    congratulations on your positive result.

i did 6 tests before believing it, and i'm 12 weeks sunday and it still hasn't sunk in,lol

I'm roughly 11 weeks. My first MW appt is Feb 16th. I have no notes, no info, just ten different phone numbers where either no-one picks up or they tell me to phone someone else.

It's not so bad, I know there's nothing can be done, and some people really do have a bad time of it. I just get easily frustrated when I can't get straight answers. I wish the doctor or someone had said "ok this is your first pregnancy, this is what's going to happen, this is what you can expect and this is what you need to do."
The NHS would save themselves a lot of stressed patients and phonecalls if they gave us that info upfront.

Sorry, hate moaning. Gotta be positive! :)

I'm so busy distracting myself from worrying that I forgot to eat

    That never happens!!

Oh hun x I've been in your shoes before and know how worrying it all is :(
That said we tend to see the midwife round the 8 week mark here so can understand your frustration - your first appt is pretty late.

Try not to worry too much over the weekend - fingers crossed the bleeding settles and good luck for Monday :A

Well my hubby told his boss today. it is my scan next week and i'm worried as i've had no symptons that something is wrong. hubbyy really wanted to be there but you have to give a months notice for anyt time off, so he told his boss and said he wanted to go to scan with me so could he get day off. his boss was more than happy to grant time off. i'm really chuffed he can be with me. i would of had my 2 yr old me and as wonderful company as he is, i'm over moon hubby can come. Also means if anything is wrong he can be with me. i keep telling myself it fine, but this preg is so diff to last 4, and the first 1 i lost so i guess i can't really tell. if my dates are right i;ll be 12+6 on scanning day.

time just seems to be flying, this week has wizzed by.

i don't have my notes either, but i got told i'll get them at the scan.

  • Afternoon everyone,

    please can I join?!

We did a test on Sunday and Tuesday (Both faint positives so hubby wasn't convinced) then did a digital one so hubby could see for sure that I was pregnant! I am guessing I am about 5 weeks, but won't know for sure until I have seen the doc on Tuesday!

This is our second child (our first is nearly 16 months old) so I am guessing this ones due date will be very close to DS birthday! :T

I can't wait! I have become obsessed with one born every minute! :D

Hope you're all feeling well and the MS isn't too bad! I am feeling suprisingly good apart from tired!

Will try and keep up with you all!

Me too! I cried watching "The Social Network" the other week :o. Even at the time I was thinking, "Why am i crying. This isn't sad or emotional." I never normally cry.
