ASOS are also good for maternity clothes. I have been in them from about 15 weeks although some normal tops still fit and I managed to make my work trousers last till about 20 weeks but they were a bit big to start with.

Had a very quiet christmas with my night with friends cancelled due to a horrendous cold. close family all now aware, DD did a fab job of telling them (pointing at my tummy and saying baby, was so cute).
Got first midwife appointment on Thursday, my boss is also PG and knows as I was looking a bit green and fessed up so time off shouldn't be a problem, I have a feeling my MW only does Thursdays at my surgery which is a pain as not one of my days off but ho-hum, will just need to actually have a break.

Have been trying to understand business finance today for my foundation degree course and it just isn't sinking in. Not sure if its me not getting that kind of thing or baby brain/ tiredness/ lack of energy to do anything.

Back to work tomorrow, dreading it as i'm sure will be ridiculously busy.

Hope everyone is OK, may go over to the other pg thread as not been there yet.....

Oh, and a bump band was the best thing I bought last time, was £6 at ASOS in white or black (I got both) and they made my normal clothes last loads longer and made you feel more supported in the bump region

  • Morning all,
Woke us this morning with the sorest boobs known to man, they are starting to swell already as well. I can only find one pair of trousers that fit me as my tummy is so bloated and I swear I have a little bump already. I'm also having the crazy dreams that can come with a pregnancy.
The weather here is pretty scary so me and DD are hiding in the house. We were supposed to be at Daddy's shop and run some errands but it will keep till tomorrow. DD's new obsession is wooden jigsaw puzzles which is a god send when I am feeling a bit queezy.
Todays jobs are to knit, hoover and nap lol

    morning ladies!! happy new year!!!:0)

i have just caught up with all the posts and advise and tips. thanks ladies :0)

fish cake, i was thinking what i can do? in terms of crafty skills. i think i have something but am far too lazy! i havent even sewn on my buttons on my winter coat that have fallen off! i hate doing that! hehe.. erm i love making cards when i can be bothered. :)

been feeling queasy all week so been having an oat cake when i can. i also hate drinking anything. the one thing i love (TEA) is also tasting weird!! water is yuck too, and i usually drink 2 litres everyday. feel too tired to go to the gym still. miss it as used to go so regularly! boobs are mega sore too so i understand how you feel.. havent been to get a new bra but i think i need it esp mine are feeling tighter now. when does one start wearing maternity clothes then?

sorry i sound like i am saying too much already. hehe... had such bad IBS over the weekend and that made my right side so uncomfy and 'heavy'. :-( am trying to eat healthy stuff but at the mo, am loving chips. i love chips!!! i am going to be a fatty if i dont stop.

also no sign of an appointment, so my mum told me to ring the hosp myself and ask them whats going on. why so late? or am i being impatient? i am 8 weeks this Thursday and surely i should have got some sort of date right?

    ok will stop wingeing.

feel yuck and back at work. felt like i never left! :-(

  • Morning all, and Happy New Year :)

Firstly, I wanted to say to Bikerchick and hiphouse, I'm so sorry for your losses :(

Secondly, (and I know it's a bit late), hi everyone, and yes, I do remember you snoopytweety - I didn't expect to be back here so soon, but it's definitely a good thing :) How's everything going over there on the 12-24 thread?!

I'm generally feeling ok, a little bit of nausea, mainly getting mental pregnancy dreams, insomnia, and sore b00bs which means that every time I roll over in bed I actually have to wake up, lift my upper body up off the bed, roll over, readjust myself and then try and get back to sleep... not working so well with the sleeping! (It probably also doesn't help that I was an E cup BEFORE I got pregnant... I'm putting off going and being remeasured, it'll just depress me). Oh, and I'm feeling a bit sore in my pelvis, but it feels achy rather than crampy so it's ok.

I'm 5+5 today, so I probably ought to book myself a dr's appointment soon to get back into the system...!

Hope everyone's well and not too depressed at being back at work. There's an end in sight for all of us!

Oh, also, Rups32, you're in my neck of the woods - I live just outside Croydon and work in Croydon :) Where are you planning on having yours? I've heard really mixed reviews about Mayday (including some unflattering nicknames for it), so I'm going to Princess Royal, which apparently has a lovely MW-led centre.

ohh thanks sa-ra-ra-ra! I live near Addiscombe not far from East croydon Station. i have heard weird stories about Mayday too and hubby says there is nothing we can do?. where is the Princess Royal? do u think i could ask GP to refer me there if it is nearby, as everyone has said something aweful about Mayday. :(. any pain i get, i panic now. i have sore boobs too and cant sleep.:( i always sleep in my belly but have had to change position and am always tossing and turning.:(

So sorry hihouse about your news *hug*.. Be strong and together with your hubby. xxx

Nope, under patient choice you can choose where you want to have the baby - ask to be referred, it's in Farnborough so just the other side of West Wickham. It will be further away for you, but worth it if you're more comfortable there - though obviously have a look first! I think Mayday is a bit hit and miss, I've heard quite good things about the MW led centre, but my stepson was born there and DH said that he and his ex didn't have a great experience, so that's what has influenced me - plus Princess Royal is probably a bit closer to me, as I'm out past South Croydon near Selsdon.
