  • Hi everyone, have you tried sucking on boiled sweets or jelly sweets to help relieve feeling sick?? I suffered a lot with feeling sick this time around but was never actually sick although it did get to the point where I would of preferred to be sick to actually relieve the feeling. I also struggled to drink anything, to the point where just to think of having a drink would make me want to be sick....it does get better though! I also used to take chopped up carrots/celery/cucumber/mange tout to work just to chomp on so I was actually eating something but nothing that could be too upsetting on the tummy.

Nothing relieves my feeling. Sometimes I ca stop the gagging with mints but because mine is mostly smell orientated and I have a severe gag reflex once it hits me it is very difficult to stop. Just projectile vomittes across the street in way home. Thanks god noone saw :( thought I hit lucky with a gorgeous panini earlier that I actually wanted but alas it wasn't to be. Some yoghurt took my fancy on way home so gonna try that for dinner. Not a happy bunny. Something in my fridge is turning me. Can't open it without vommitting. :(
love you lots like jelly tots :o
  • hello everyone! in the nicest way possible, I'm feeling better seeing that some of you are vomitting. sorry, i know that's horrible and so I hope you can find something to relieve it. :o I've never had a strong nose and was really surprised earlier that husband hadn't been smelling these sickly sweet candles as I had the last two days.

I'm one of those people who feels like the world is ending if I just feel like I'm going to be sick and even get to the point where I get uncontrollable shakes. Was in work yesterday, today and will be tomorrow and nearly shouted at a girl for feeling sick as I wanted to say, I'm trying to keep a healthy baby inside of me but only 6 weeks today, I'm way more ill than you! I just wish I wasn't such a worrier and that time could fast forward... As my lmp was 18th Nov, the hospital in Cardiff said I couldn't even consider ringing them until 7th Jan ... which is a Sat and they are only open Mon to Fri at odd times, hmm. Going to try 6th Jan though that's my first day at my placement college and I can imagine that would be an awkward conversation to overhear :D

Persistent stomach cramping I've had today, with periods of intense pain where I just have to curl up. Starting writing an essay that's due in next Friday, oopsie and hubby and i r off to London Tues-Thurs. Passed all the other ones though so hopefully I'm allowed one blip. Thinking forward to August, I think we would both love a girl, hubby especially but as we have all said, healthy and happy is the best option! Apparently there is going to be a new series of one born every minute in jan, I haven't watched before but don't know if that will put me off the inevitable somewhat?! Will you all be watching?

biker chick, I'm so so sorry. I wish you all the best and pray that you and your oh are able to support each other as well as you can. If you've managed to get through my ramble, thank you, it's really encouraging to know others are feeling the same and in the same boat.

Best wishes to all  (non-alcoholic of course!)

  • I will be watching One Born Every Minute if there is a new series on. I watched it all through my last prgnancy and I found it quite comforting personally.
The other thing to remember (that didnt really occur to me) is that labour is generally a long slow process, you will not go from a twinge to pushing in a short period. You have a long time of building up from tiny contractions your not even sure are contractions to the biggies. You have plenty of time to get used to the situation and if you can keep yourself relatively calm then your endorphins will do a lot of the work for you in the begining.
In my head it was a very sudden event but the reality was much different. So please don't fret.
