As predicted, they couldn't find a vein, so lots of stabbing and no blood coming out. When they did finally find one the blood was dripping out, took forever, BUT I got my scan date and it's friday!!! Happiest I've been in so many weeks :D:D

I'm also a student midwives experiment now, and she's coming along to all my appointments, and the birth apparently...

I had a student midwife at my booking appt as well, but she was just with my proper midwife for the day so doubt I'll see her again! (((hugs)))) for the blood taking problems! I've only got one decent visible vein in my left arm, hardly anything on my right, but once they get into it the problem is getting it to stop!

YAY for the scan date, scan buddy :D

Hey everyone hope you're all well,

Had my physio appt yesterday and I am now the proud owner of four things .............. a fembrace (very sexy NOT), a pair of crutches, a slide sheet for bed and a bath board to help me out of the bath :( I knew physio would fob me off with these !

I've got my chiropractor appt today really hoping they are some use !

OH's car broke down yesterday and he was in such a strop for the rest of the day he told me off because DS2 had left his pencils and colouring books on the floor which led into us having words so wasn't best pleased !! Grrrrrrrr He has now apologised though but with the combination of hormones and pain I told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of his opinions :rotfl: I blamed the pregnancy on my rant later on lol

Will update you all after the chiropractor my friend is now taking me bless her as OH had no car for work so now has mine

    xx

... blimey its all happening Gilly! all that patience has paid off !
fingers crossed for friday will be keeping an eye on the thread to hear how you and 4nnabella get on! I would be interested to know how long it takes as on my letter says allow an hour for appointment which seems a bit long!

Sorry about the blood test annoyance, a nurse has previously told me that if you make sure that you are not dehydrated before blood test it can help them find the vein easier however I know that for some its just one of those things but I do make sure I drink water a while beforehand.

    Hello All,

Amanda - My mind boggles at a fembrace but if it helps then.... I have visions of a chastity belt but know it def aint one of those!! Hopefully today will be a better day than yesterday

Felt completely terrible last nite mainly self inflicted as still have to eat before witching hours ie before 4pm so made myself eat ready made lasagne, did peel most of top off as do not tolerate certain things with milk (but can get away with some things) but lasagne was not one of them and was so ill I blubbed to oh I HATE being sick...

I did early in the week push it as really wanted icecream but cant have it but thought well if mix melted chocolate in it will be ok... ate a bit but thankfully stopped  I must MUST not eat things I know I cannot have.

I keep saying to oh if only I could skip the period 4pm to 8pm then I would feel better as still struggle to find something to eat before 4pm then spend rest of the evening feeling with nausea on and off then have to eat something very small before bed.

Am also finding it difficult to drink water even though bottled etc just drinking rubbish ie fizzy vimto, fizzy mango (FGS!) I never used to drink fizzy drinks hardly ever! Going to try hard to drink water today.

Yesterday morning I made bl:D:Ddy rice crispy cakes with golden syrup, cocoa, spread, white chocolate chips and vanilla sugar am I turning into a sugar monster?!!!!!!!!!!! They might as well have been molten sugar but they tasted good!:rotfl:

    Anyway enough moaning!
Am 11 weeks today so have to be grateful as it is a milestone for me

    Take care all

I started off drinking loads of water then, about 8 weeks i stopped being able to stomach it, as it made me feel really queasy. After reading a tip in a PG book, I switched to diluted proper apple juice- started about 60-40(apple/water), and gradually upped the water so i'm about 30/70 (A/w) now. I can manage that much better so i feel like i'm getting enough fluids again now. Not good to drink too much neat fruit juice due to the high fruit sugars, hence the dilution. Might be worth a go?

Also with you on the milky stuff thing making me sick. Cream is worst for me, and can only manage a bit of milk on my cereal. If you get ice cream urges, could you try frozen yoghurt instead? I tried out the Yeo Valley Strawberry one from Sainsburys, and it went down fine. Plus i keep a stock of mini calypo lollies in the freezer for the hot days and when i fancy ice ceam. Seems to do the trick.

    Hope you feel better soon..

And congrats to Northern and Suki, welcome! And Yay for the booking in and scans. Good stuff!

...... Thanks kira will get oh to get me some apple juice and try diluting :D

With the milk thing its something that I could not tolerate before preg, think that probably lactose intolerant but can get away with some things in very small quantity and yoghurt is one of them so frozen yoghurt could be nice for a change. Usually use forified rice milk for cereal but think that preg has made me a bit stupid in the head and making me want things I cant have!!

    Thanks Kira
