I thought I'd say hi too. I've re-registered as my other user name gives too many clues as to my real name, and I'd rather keep quiet about the pregnancy for a bit longer!

I'm 7+6 now, and not having many symptoms, had mild nausea but no sickness. Cucumbers and peaches taste really odd now, and I can't have caffeine at all. I'm also not really eating much meat, couldn't eat the lamb the other day that was in the casserole, but at least there were lots of beans and potatoes to eat instead. Definitely mmmm cheese though, although to be fair I thought that before getting pregnant! My husband does all the cooking at the moment anyway, as he's not working and is a much better cook than I am.

Went to the doctors last week and apparently I have to wait until 16 weeks before I see a midwife, though I should get a scan about 12 weeks. I'm just feeling quite impatient to get on with things now :)

Hi bluebell. Welcome and congrats! 16 weeks sounds AGES before seeing a midwife. Longer than the usual recommendations. Have you had a look at hospitals in your area? You may find one that lets you self refer, which could speed things up a bit.
Maybe get yourself a good pregnancy book to read in the meantime, it should help answer questions, rather than feeling a bit in limbo. I can recommend "what to expect when you are expecting". Really helped me feel a bit more prepared whilst waiting for my booking in.

Kira - you got married on the same day as me!

Thanks for the advice, will see if I can track down the book in the local library, it'll be a good excuse to get signed up :-) It sounds like there's one hospital and one local midwife for our area, so I suspect there's no option about earlier referrals....

    Wooo! Wedding twin!:D

Where abouts are you? In England? If you have a look on this site, it should give you some useful info about what the options are in your area, and the stats for the different hospitals. If there is one you like the look of slightly out of your area, and you are happy to travel, you can always request that instead, but maybe call to check with their antenatal unit that they will accept out of area patients. That is how i got my first choice.

Hey everyone, I'm about 11 weeks pregnant and I'm really struggling with the sickness. I've lost almost a stone in the past few weeks and it got so bad I asked my GP for something. :( She prescribed me cyclizine 50 mg and I've been taking it for a few days. I feel guilty for taking anything but it got to the point I couldn't eat anything and I was worried for little beans sake. Anyway the cyclazine worked a little but today I'm back to throwing anything up :(

Has anyone tried any pills that work well for morning sickness because I might ask to try something else. The joys of early pregnancy eh? x

Could you get some of the travel sickness wrist bands as well?

If it is really bad again I would go back to the GP they may be able to increase the dose a bit.

I've been wearing the travel sickness wristbands for weeks but they don't seem to help. I've tried all the remedies online, ginger biscuits, eating a cracker before getting out of bed etc nothing seems to work :( I might have to ask her to up the dose or try something else x
