Wow Mimi - could be a xmas baby!!
Thanks babybump - you're very luck to get it at a cheap price. I've seen one for 50 - but its in Kent, not exactly close.
Kira - i know how you feel. I've had nothing but bloating, tiredness and sore boobs, and actually want some sickness so that I can feel pregnant. I know i'll probably regret that later, but right now, I just feel like a bad pms! I want the scan so badly, but doubt DH will want to pay for the scan when its £99.

Don't know where in London you are, but if you can get to Yately in Hants, you can have one for £28 at the mo! Bargain!

I'm still undecided about having a private early scan. I'm just scared that they will do the scan and find something bad, and it wont be a doctor, just a private technician. I guess the reason i'm scared is that my two closest friend around my age have both discovered missed miscarriages when they have gone for their first scan, and i'm terrified i'll be the same. I'm trying to convince myself i'm being dumb, as i've been so sick, i cant see how i can NOT have a beanie in there still, but there is just that doubt.

Just don't know what to do! I'd really love a scan pic to give my nan on her 90th, which is before my official scan, but.......

    Awww bless you Kira :)

I'm glad were having ours but also have a bit of the apprehension you're talking about I guess I just want to know then and hopefully all is ok but if not I felt that at least i'd know then and wouldn't be waiting another 4 wks to find out through my NHS scan but I understand everyone is different too and some may not want the scan full stop until 12 wks thats fine too I didn't have any early scans with my others we couldn't afford it at the time and it didn't kill me to wait lol We're just in different financial state so have chosen to have this one :)

I personally dont see the point in private early scans or the 3d scans.. I think if you had a bleed etc and it was serious the hospital would scan you anyway (but thats just me)

I had an early NHS scan with one of my DS was about 6 and half wks and had pain and associated bleed was very stressful thankfully all ok and I cried with relief thank heavens they do offer them in those circumstances I would've been traumatised waiting after that. But like I said yeah each to their own n stuff some will want it and pay others won't and won't pay :)

    xx

Ooo, thanks Kira! Will look into that.
Amanda I agree, I guess its down to personal choice really. Like us, we don't want the downs test. But a lot of other people will. Everyone's pregnancy will be different.
Well I've started doing a 1-1.5 mile walk each evening now. Not much, but a start!

The place is called icanseeyou.co.uk . They have some good packages as well as early scan, and 20% off at the mo.

for medical reasons - yes i think early scans are great. But i personally think its a waste of time (and money) to have early scans because people cant wait until 12 weeks. I understand people want reassurance the baby is ok if they have had a hard time TTC BUT its just setting yourself up (im not having a go at anyone btw who HAS had a pre-scan - its just my opinion remember :o)

My DD crossed her legs when i went for my 20 wek scan and i had to wait to find out what she was (i was adament i was having a boy!) but i wouldnt go and spend £££ to find out - as long as the baby is healthy then i really couldnt care and there is no need to all these extra scans people pay for - If they was needed then the NHS would provide them.

Technology is great at times - But i think we some times take advantage of it.

Yes had a surprise scan today lol was bit annoyed as OH and DD wasnt with me like I had planned but glad they will be there at next one. If they could of tested for Downs today then i wouldnt be having the other scan, not sure WHY they couldnt test today though? The outcome doesnt make a difference of the downs test but im one of these that like to know so im prepared - I always think the VERY worst then when it isnt as bad, at least i was ready

All ok - Flump moved (alot) and has a strong heartbeat -- and thankfully theres only one flump lol dont think i could cope with twin labour!

I'm new to this board, just got a BFP a couple of weeks ago after nearly a year ttc.:j I'm 8 weeks pregnant now and had an appointment over a week ago with my GP, I'm just waiting to hear about my first appointment with a midwife. I thought I would hear quicker or maybe I'm just impatient lol.

Anyway nice to meet you all, I'm not spreading the news until I'm 12 weeks but I had to talk to someone about it lol.

My morning sickness has been lasting all day every day for over a week, just constant nausea but I've completely lost my appetite and 3 pounds :( I've only thrown up a few times but I feel like the constant sick feeling is worse because there's no temporary relief. I've tried just about all the remedies I've found online so if anyone has any tips they'd be much appreciated :)
