I've got my midwife appointment tomorrow - (8wks) am very excited! Do you think they'll try for a hb or book me an early scan after the bleeding last week (which seems to have stopped thank god)

Neither... they won't check for hb at all in a lot of areas until after 20 weeks.. and 16 week appt usually. the dating scan will be about 12 weeks.. if they offer the nuchal scan it has to be 11-14 weeks

    Glad the bleeding stopped though.

    Me too!
    Hope she pops by soon.
  • Afternoon ladies,

Just thought I'd pop in and let you know that i went to the docs yesterday to have the pregnancy confirmed I did a CB digi before leaving and it said 3+ weeks doctor placed me at 4 and half weeks, i'll be 5 weeks tomorrow I'm sure does that sound ok??

He was really chuffed he had a pregnancy in and was all smiles on leaving, just gave me some advice not to stress and carry on life as normal!!!
I have to change docs now as I'm to far away from my docs to be seen there (outwith their catchment area) so I'm just hoping it doesn't mess things up with apps but if they do send 1 it will go to my mums!!!
I'm so so excited!!! I text my supervisor to let her know how I got on and haven't heard anything back!!!!
I need a risk assessment put in place and still havent been told about it!!! I want it put in place asap as I don't want to be put in the position where me or the baby could be harmed especially when you can't really see anything yet!!! I'm hoping she'll start rotaring me on for 2 days off together aswell as i'm shattered already this week, feel like I haven' stopped!!! Plus my b00bs are so sore today aswell!!! :o

You don't have to change docs if you like that one.. they just aren't obliged to do home visits.. but that goes whether you are pg or not.

Yup - Agree with Pigpen. I moved out of my doctors catchment area many years ago but he kept me on the list and said he just couldn't do visits. He was more than happy to see me during my pregnancy. Did mean I had to travel down to see my midwife each time but it meant I got to see my mum each time! I only changed doctors after Isaac was born as he had to be registered in the area in case he needed home visits etc.

Unless it causes major hassle then you can stay with your doctor if you're happy.

Ok - going back to lurksville now!

aaaarrrrgggghhhh so sick of writing assignments, am just so so tired, and have been really struggling to sleep at night or during the day since OH rocked up!! Have to get up at 6 tomorrow to go and pick the new camper van, and will be staying up late to get everything packed, going to spend 6 hours on the train tomorrow then an hour and a half in the car.... really hope my sickness improves, has been really bad today, think its because I'm not at work and I don't have an eating routine and the fact I'm super tired.

Told OH's mum today and she sort of went into shocked mode, no where near as happy as I thought she'd be, OH said he thinks she was over the moon just in shock...... very strange, Got to go and tell OH's dad tonight, another thing I could do without doing, OH thinks he'll really happy just really shocked again, I don't really understand the shockedness though, as OH and I have been married a year, surely for a lot of couples it is the next progressive step???!!!!
